What To Wear to a Summer Wedding

Monday, June 17, 2013
I got an email from a reader asking for help on what to wear to a summer wedding in Cancun. She said she (thinks!) has horrible taste and a hard time with matching and looking age-appropriate. Girl, me too, me too.

Here's what I came up with...

I've been to Cancun once upon a time and it was muy caliente. I chose a universally flattering dress that fell away from the body. No body-hugging clothes here! We want easy-breezy!

For the accessories.... I personally like to keep things simple when it's hot outside. Or I'm boring. (YUP.) I chose a skinny black belt and a simple rhinestone necklace. But for the shoes, I picked snakeskin. My general rule is if you have a plain something (in this case, the dress), you have to have a bangin' something else (the snakeskin sandals). There's a little gold in each of the accessories that it makes it a little dressy and matchy.

And none of the items above are too dressy that you won't be able to wear it again, which makes this cheapskate very happy.

What would YOU wear to a summer wedding?

  1. I went to a wedding last weekend and I agree with not wearing a form fitting dress... weddings usually have buffets anyway! ;)
