Colorblocked and Peplumed

bauble necklace via sample sale - $5 | Forever 21 peplum shirt - $5 (similar striped) | Forever 21 skirt - $6 | Vince Camuto heels - $76 (mint in size 7) | Total = $92

I decided to bust out the peplum again but this time a bit more dressed up for church. Thanks for those who linked to your pics and gave me suggestions!! I can't wait to wear it with my skinny jeans! *Fingers crossed....very much crossed*

Since peplum already has so much volume on the bottom, it's best to wear fitted skirts or pants to complement it. I love this color-blocked skirt - it's mostly black so I can wear it as a basic, but the blue block of color at the bottom gives it more interest. Basics with a little detail are the best! I mean, they already look so simple and general - every little detail counts!

  10. This is a nice combo. I wish I could get F21 skirts to fit me just right. I never have much luck!

Also, I love how you tag these posts "4th trimester." It's so true!

  11. that outfit is nice and the shoes sort of continue the color blocking in a witty geometric way... I got one peplum top -this is the odd thing- tried it on in S, M and L, which all fit nearly the same, but I kept the L because it did not flair out as much... maybe defeating the whole purpose...
