thrifted American Eagle denim jacket, $5 (similar); JCPenney necklace (similar); polka dot dress via online Asian boutique (similar strapless); Vince Camuto heels, $76
Look! No bump pics! I can do it! Sometimes!
This dress was the other dress my sister got for me that I had to unsheer with a thrifted slip. It's sleeveless (GASP) so I'm still having a hard time styling it. I only have like 3 cardigans so that makes things a bit difficult.. I could just always wear a white short-sleeve t-shirt underneath...or not. I'll go with not.. It is a great dress because it has an empire waist so it'll see me through the whole pregnancy...once I figure out how to wear it again, that is.
Also, it looks like I have highlights but I don't! My hair got gradually lighter from the two perms I got earlier this year. Just wanted to clarify... My highlighting days are behind me...like high-school-behind me.

IRL blog friends are, in fact, awesome! As for styling the dress, maybe you can wear a tie-neck blouse under it? Or maybe that sounds weird. But I thought I should throw it out there anyway :)
ReplyDeleteYou look SO put together and cute!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the polka dot dress with the jean jacket! Charming and simple!

I love the ease of this look. You look very minimalistically chic. (I don't even think minimalistically is a word, but here we are.) Great look!!!

I think the only answer is: go shopping for more jackets and cardigans! You have my permission.

ReplyDeletei love polka dots - and you just look oh so stunning!
ReplyDeletelol. It's okay to show off your bump like...all the time. You still look amazing. And of course, glowing too.
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou only own three cardigans? I'm not sure we can be friends anymore.

Just kidding. I was under the impression that cardigans were no-brainers when it comes to modest-ifying sleeveless stuff. But I guess you are more resourceful than I am.
ReplyDeleteI was so sad not to see the bump pics! They are my fav no matter how much your hubby teases you about it. You have a human growing inside you....kinda a big deal
ReplyDeleteThat photo of you and your friends is so great!

ok my suggestion is to get another top (like a fun bright color, or a basic black or white) and wear it over and knot it above your belly so it looks like a skirt and a knotted top! :) super cute. also you should do the same thing with a button up denim top and tie it above the bump. i do that a lot over my bump. then add a fun flower pin... so many options!
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes. So elegant.
ReplyDeleteDon't you all look just adorable! I love the dress, I'm sure you will come up with a new way to style it.
ReplyDeleteYou should wear a black, white er even colored t-shirt underneath the dress - no need for a cardigan.
ReplyDeleteWould showing your arms be less modest? I don't think so. I think you can pull off a sleeveless dress. My general rule is - skin on top? Longer hems at the bottom. And vice versa. I think there would be nothing distasteful about a sleeveless dress. But of course there's your personal preference, and I look forward to this dress styled multiple ways that are comfortable to you. You look lovely here!

Maybe you could wear one of those half-shirts underneath, like are being advertised for Molly's Clothing? That would leave room for your belly. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. Arms don't mean less modest! Just a personal choice. and thank you!
ReplyDeleteHow about a little bolero jacket or a shrug? It's such a cute dress, I think you can get a lot of mileage out of it.
ReplyDeleteI've been MIA from the blogosphere for a bit... pregnant?! Congratulations!!!
Wow, you look adorable!
