Currently on the hunt for white sneakers. I've come up with so many great outfits (SO MANY) where I thought "This would look great with white sneakers." But, the problem is... I DON'T HAVE WHITE SNEAKERS. So I've been looking.... But, you see... I don't like the typical Converse sneakers. I've had them before and they're just not fit for my feet. I've been eyeing the Jack Purcell sneakers by Converse though.. What do you think? Are they fly? Most importantly, should I get them?!?
I have to highly recommend the Supergas. They are sooo comfortable.
ReplyDeleteYES. I have them, they are fly, and definitely the most classy of sneakers (as seen in J.Crew). Make sure you get your actual size because mine are a little snug. I also agree with Jamie though, Keds are nice and very versatile. And probably a cheaper investment.
ReplyDeleteperfectly priya
I prefer Keds. There's a style I really love called Pointer (link at bottom) and though I prefer the light chambray ones, the white ones are pretty sharp!

Toms sneaker ^_^.. they're expensive but i think they are cute :D
Oooh, I really like the mesh ones too!!!
ReplyDeleteCute!! Love these.
ReplyDeleteBoo! Seriously?!? :( I don't like Converse because they're too flat and offer no arch support and I'm a stickler when it comes to buying shoes over $20.. They have to be comfortable and quality-made. Guess I'll have to keep looking..
ReplyDeleteI agree with the suggestion of low-top Chucks! I'm also digging the retro vibe of an Onitsuka Tiger ... I know the Mexico 66 style is classic, but the Tai-Chi's minimalism really tugs at my heartstrings.
ReplyDeleteWell you know how i feel about sneakers! I love em. I would suggest what others have said: Keds, Tretorn, Converse, Superga (!), Vans (low profile ones are cute), Bensimon. I'm kind of obsessed with like white mesh sneakers for summer - so cute like these:

Tretorn: http://store.tretorn.com/skymra-sl-poplin-w/p/47212602/
ReplyDeleteyou should get them! they are so fly!
ReplyDeletedo it!! i recently purchased a pair of optic white low top chucks and i LOVE them...way more than i ever thought i would. that being said, if the classic chuck isn't good for your feet, try the purcells and see how those go. i wasn't sure about white sneaks at first...it took a while before i wore them..they were just so new and blindingly white haha, but they are so classic and go with everything. they look especially great with anything denim/jean/chambray. my other suggestions: sugergas or vans. as long as they are super comfy on your feet, go with whatever brand works best for you, i'd say. i love the how it adds a sleek sporty tomboyish vibe without the clunkiness of, say, actual running sneakers. good hunting!
ReplyDeleteI would probably get white shoes soooo dirty quick!

I found if you buy converse in guy sizes they fit better. I compared the 7.5 in women's and 5.5in men's and the men's was a good half inch smaller (or really the correct size).
ReplyDeleteI prefer Keds. There's a style I really love called Pointer (link at the bottom) and though I prefer the chambray ones, the white ones are pretty sharp too!

I had one of those once.
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased the white jack purcell sneakers and I love them!!! They literally go with everything! The only problem is that they KILL my feet

Cute shoes.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in highschool ( about 15 years ago), we had "Skippies" ( white canvas shoes that were all the rage, but they looked stupid on my large feet, these however wouldn't look so bad, they have a nice shape to them!
ReplyDeleteUm, yes. You must get them.
ReplyDeleteChase prefers Keds over these too! I think they look weird on my big feet and equally big calves...
ReplyDeleteI love the look of Jack Purcells but have never worn them. I own a pair of white leather Keds that are sooo comfy I love them. I might also love them because they were second-hand, barely worn and I got them for a dollar, but you know...
ReplyDeleteGo for it Elaine. I bought a pair of white canvas shoes (featured on today's post) and I don't know why I didn't them earlier. They're so comfortable, and they work with so many different looks. You'll love 'em! :)

Nice!! Thanks!! I just started checking out those stores when I pass 'em just in case but it's like L.A. people snatch up all the good stuff here or something because I can never find anything.. :( Guess I just need to keep looking..
ReplyDeleteI have the Converse Lo's and I like them better than the regular Chucks. They fit more like Keds but are a little less refined. I've never tried the Purcell's, but I really like the look!
ReplyDeleteFrom one cheap gal to the next, I have always had good luck in Marshall's/Ross/TJ Maxx for Jack Purcell and Converse sneakers. I have a pair of off-white ones that I paid $16 at the Converse Outlet.
ReplyDeleteLove JP kicks! GET 'EM!!! :))
