handmade flower necklace, $3? (similar); Gap dress I cut to be a shirt, $8 (similar); Old Navy pants, $5 (similar)

So I am finally back from the cruise!!! I will give you updates and pics later... I need to rest from my relaxing vacation first.

Anyway....monochrome!!!! I loved this outfit. I don't think I've ever done monochrome with any other color besides black successfully. This was a big moment for me. Let me just relish it for a sec..

I wore this the week my siblings were in town. It was so good to see them again. Eating, games, Knott's Berry, eating, Korean karaoke, and eating. It's nice now that we're "grown up" and we don't want to rip each other's throats out. We actually have conversations!! <3Family

  1. Hi marty, thanks for your comment! I don't mind high-rise jeans. In fact, I have a pair myself!

  2. Very pretty color. So fresh!!
I have a question for you; All of you, actually. High rise jeans, pants and shorts. How do you feel about them? personally I think they are wonderful. i have just about stopped wearing any lower rise jeans at all. I am actually not a modest dresser, but I do check your blog on a semi regular basis. i hope this doesn't bother you all. I am not even Mormon. So Im no asking about this in a modesty sense. I absolutely love flared high waisted 70's style jeans to wear with high wedges and platform heels. I also adore skinny high waisted jeans, especially cropped ones to show off ankle. I adore high rise jean shorts with cropped tops. i know that may be too wild for a modest outfit, but if you do it correctly, no skin is showing. What do you feel? Are they too much like mom jeans for you/ or do you think they are a good new look?

  10. I've never thought to go monochrome with blue, you pulled this off! Thanks for all the catch-up posts while you were away too, I especially loved the gradient skirt. I'm wondering if I can pull off an all-yellow...
