Feminize by Melissa

husband's t-shirt; heart from an old American Eagle skirt; great-grandma's belt (similar); Abercrombie & Fitch jeans (similar); wedges via Marshall's (similar)

I have almost stolen all of my husband's undershirts. He doesn't wear them, so I didn't feel bad when I decided that I love the comfy fit, but was tired of the boring white. So, I went to the back of my closet, found a skirt that I NEVER wear anymore (Seriously, it's from high school. I have a picture of me as a junior wearing it....), cut out my favorite shape, dusted off my sewing machine, and sewed it on. Men's t-shirt feminized. He isn't taking back this one. :)

Paired my new t-shirt with skinny jeans, wedges to lengthen the legs (My policy:  you can never be too tall.), and added my metallic skinny belt peeking out of my front tuck. I'm attempting this whole tuck-in-the-front-leave-the-back-untucked... Am I too late?

Admittedly, adding a fun piece of jewelry would have been a quicker way to feminize this t-shirt. What do you do to dress-up/feminize a casual t-shirt?

  1. Melissa - I do this ALL. THE. TIME. I often find myself staring at my closet with the torture of "I have nothing to wear" and end up sneaking into my husband's closet and pulling something there for inspiration.  I've even done this with my dad's clothes. Great advice here. :)

  2. Loveee the way you girled it up :)

  3. Looks comfy and cute! I do the front tuck all the time, because it just looks so much better with a belt showing!

  4. I love the wedge booties! I have been looking for a pair just like that everywhere but with no success. Love the diy shirt too! :)

  5. I love front-tucking.  A belt is an accessory just like everything else, so why not show it off?  Especially when it's shiny!

  6. Looks great!  I have been known to wear men's tanks but haven't had the same luck with t-shirts.  If you can, would you mind telling us the brand and size of white t-shirt you're wearing.  I'd love to go pick up a couple for myself.  Thanks!

Thanks Jennie. Tanks-that's a good idea too! I am wearing a Hanes "comfortsoft" in a size small. It's a nice loose fit and it's long enough!

  8. Great shoes!

    xo Jennifer

  9.  love stealing the boys clothes! Never thought of adding an appliqué and claiming it as my own though haha. I usually add a bold necklace. Or just wear it with my feminine curves and that makes it girlie enough for me :)
