When I posted my first sweatpants outfit, I didn't know it would get so much backlash. I guess I should be more appreciative that you guys care so much about what I wear every day...more so than myself, apparently.
For my second sweatpants look, I was inspired by Sydney's double denim. It was a bit bulky on top, but if it's good enough for J.Crew, I'll certainly take it for a test drive!
What do you think? Are sweatpants still a no-no in public? Or is this trend ready to be worn off the runway?
First the PJ pants, and now these sweat pants? How are you making all this look so chic? :)

sorry, but I can't support the sweatpants... I like the denim on denim top though!
ReplyDeleteHm, I'm going to be honest here, I don't know ... maybe if the pants were slouchier and the shirt a little less tucked? But the similar-toned double denim look is a winner!
ReplyDeleteI kind of like this, but if you don't need the drawstring take it out. I think that is what makes me apprehensive about it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Katelyn above. I think you pull this outfit off pretty well, though the drawstring on the sweatpants takes away from it all (not that you should take it out either because then there would be two distracting holes right there). I just read your last sweatpants post that you linked to and I think it's kind of cool how the sweatpants in an outfit caused so many different opinions. After all, that's what fashion is, right? Yes there are trends and there are certain things people should never wear, but fashion is all about expressing your personal style and wearing what you want. So if you love the sweatpants, then you wear them and hold your head up with pride :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I totally agree with you. Fashion is supposed to be fun and about trying new things! ..even if most of the time it doesn't turn out the way you wanted.
ReplyDeleteThe drawstring is really throwing me off as well, I think. But what if you nixed the drawstring and added a skinny belt instead? It might look interesting. I do like the idea of the sweatpants though...I think they can be done!
ReplyDeleteInteresting.. Thanks! I may have to try that.
ReplyDeleteI second the skinny belt idea, I think that would make these look pretty chic. Hot pink? Leopard? I think my hesitation on the sweatpants has more to do with the elastic cuffs than the drawstring, though. I would take out the elastic and do a skinny or straight leg to make them a little more sleek. I have to congratulate you though on your willingness to try interesting looks. The denim on denim isn't overbearing since you kept it on the top.
ReplyDeleteLeopard!!!!!! That has been on my wishlist for almost two years!! I think it's about time I cave and buy one.
ReplyDeleteSorry. Sweatpants just cannot be "put together" for me. The top half is great. Bottom half? Not so much. :(
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it. I think it looks easy, casual and cute and I'm going to Target TONIGHT to get sweatpants. LOL!
ReplyDeleteSO SO LOVELY!! I'm seriously surprised that they look so good, it makes me incredibly jealous! I wish I could look that good in sweat pants, haha. And, personally, I have no issue with the drawstring, adding a belt seems silly; isnt the whole point of sweatpants kind of opposite to belts?
ReplyDeleteOk, I think I'll give this outfit a go. Gonna try it this weekend and see if I can pull it off. I'm ALWAYS down for a chance to wear sweats. This just makes them a teensy bit more appropriate. Who am I kidding??? I don't give a crap if sweatpants are appropriate or not! I'm gonna wear the crap outta them!!!

So relaxed and chic! Love the denim on them, and the pop of color from the bag!

your hair looks supa hot!
ReplyDeleteThis is probably a generational thing. I think you look really cute, especially with the pink purse, but I'll have a hard time getting used to sweats with nice shoes. To me, sweats are for running errands or a lazy day, with tennis shoes. I like the way they're less casual with the denim shirt and jacket, but personally I'd never wear sweats to work. But I'm 40. ;) And when I was in high school everyone wore sweats to school sometimes. For a while the trend was to cut off old sweats into shorts and wear patterned long underwear underneath that matched! Skirts made from sweatshirt material (fleece, I guess) were also popular for a while with more "stylish" sweatshirts with patterns or logos on them such as "Camp Beverly Hills." My 82 year old father swears that everything comes back in style eventually, just in different ways. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this look but I am seriously in love with your satchel! May I ask whenre did you get? I'm dying to own one and this one is the perfect color!
ReplyDeleteShe's selling it!

Isn't it cute? I almost bought it.
I love this look better than the first one. Plus, that denim jacket is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou rock those sweatpants girl
ReplyDeleteNope. You look amazing. They're not slouchy, I'm-wearing-my-husband's-sweatpants look. You totes brought it to another level. totes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a good point.. I was born in the late 80s so I missed that trend whereas those slightly older than me probably remember vividly...
ReplyDeleteYOU'RE hot!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, lazies unite!
ReplyDeleteI love that you used the word totes.
ReplyDeleteI love it all! Not slouchy... especially with what you wore it with :] g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s
ReplyDeleteI would love it if you could take a look at my blog.....

I normally like what you put together. But I just can't do sweats. I don't even own a pair, let alone wear them out of the house.
ReplyDeleteThat's one trend that won't stick with me.
Target usually has some... I saw one in pony hair about a month ago.
ReplyDeleteOoh, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI just can't approve of sweats as part of an outfit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for saying, "slighly," lol. :D
ReplyDeleteIf you are asking for opinions, and it seems like you are, I am not going to lie, the sweatpants are NOT good. Love the top half, the denim on denim is great and the hot pink bag really sets it off but those sweats with the heels?!? Not working for me ......
