Have you ever heard of slip extenders? These magical wardrobe accessories are the solution for those skirts and dresses that are just a bit too short! I have purchased them from a local boutique, but I never found any that were exactly what I wanted. Then I thought, "Hey, maybe I could make one." I must say that I have absolutely no sewing skills and my crafting skills are limited, so I decided to make this a "no-sew" project. If you have a sewing machine, feel free to sew on the trim, instead of using the fabric adhesive.

This project only took
about 15 minutes and cost less than $15! If you already have an
old slip, it would only cost a few dollars for the trim and a few
dollars for the fabric adhesive. I hope all of you beautiful readers
will try this out, and please come say hello over at Modern Modest
Beauty!

That is a brilliant idea!

You can also buy them online. A church friend of mine sells cute ones on etsy. Her shop is called: aslipshop !!
ReplyDeleteI really, really love this tutorial! I like to wear shorts under my dresses and skirts because I have a bad habit of sitting "Indian style" or "Criss Cross Apple Sauce" or whatever lame name it's called these days, even in an office chair. This would be a perfect, simple addition to keep them from looking out of place if my skirt rides up!
ReplyDeletehow clever!
ReplyDeleteI would just like to say Thank You to everyone for the kind comments. It really means a lot to me and I hope you all try it out, cause it was super easy!
