When I was a teenager I changed out of my Sunday skirt into sweats as fast as I could without ripping out zippers and buttons. My mom would frequently stay in her dress. When I asked her why she hadn't changed yet she'd shrug and say, "Because I'm comfortable." And I'd think, "Whatever, you loony."

When I first started fashion blogging I was terrified at the prospect of wearing a skirt outside of Sunday activities. It felt weird. Truth be told, anything beside jeans made me feel like an imposter.

Haute Pink

Wore this to church a couple weeks ago. It's probably one of my favorite outfits! I love the mix of hot pink and light blue. I love it so much that I wore it twice. Does that mean I have to blog it again? The best part about this outfit is I didn't even have to think about it. It just came to me...like magic...or as some people would call it "having a sense of style." I think I got it, you guys...until I wake up tomorrow and suddenly have nothing to wear.....

BlingBling!

I first pinned this broach on my dress but it felt like the broach was competing with the red belt so I decided more bling was the answer...as it always should be. I love how it turned out! Gotta remember this for my white button-up.. and gray button-up.. and chambray button-up....

Washed in Black

I can't remember the last time I wore all black! (Yes, I do.) I could've worn that pink necklace again but it's pretty heavy and my neck is fragile. I wore my choker necklace with it to match the crew neckline of my new(ish) top. Can I just say how much I love how this top balloons out? Perfect for disguising the big lunch I had that day...which is everyday. Free lunch, anyone? Also, I'm getting tired of my J Brand jeans (GASP) constricting my sausage legs. Gonna look into a new brand that Jess told me about...but I can't remember! Jess! What were those hot jeans you were wearing when we met up???

I decided to include more bloggers to Clothed Much and want to introduce the newest installment... Saturday guest bloggers! Every Saturday a guest blogger will post about anything modest fashion or beauty related. I want to make Clothed Much more communal than MEMEME. So I'd like to introduce the first Saturday guest blogger. Take it away, Brittney!

Hey guys. I’m Brittney from A Day in the Life Too… I’m a wife, a mom (three times), a long-distance runner, and a devout consumer of pnut m&ms. In bulk. And that, my dear friends, sums up all you need to know about me. Perhaps I should be alarmed about that...

So. For me, summertime = BBQs, swimming pools, and sunshine. I’m not complaining; all that stuff is heavenly. But when the sweat starts to flow like the…um…salmon of the Capistrani (woah. Totally just butchered THAT metaphor), it can be hard to find ways to stay modest without encroaching on frumpalicious territory. (yep. Frumpalicious. Eat your heart out, Wikipedia...)

ANYway. Sometimes in July and August, I dress in winter-wear, park myself on a stool in front of the fridge, and eat freezer pops all day long. (Pretty sure that the streets in heaven are lined with individual popsicle-stocked freezers.) But for the times that fridge-sitting isn’t possible or practical, I’ve got some heat-averting tricks up my (short)sleeve.

On the Nail

Totally digging this new nail trend with a different color on your ring finger. Even Linley is doing it!! The green nail polish is Sephora by OPI's Read My Palm ($10). The tan one on my ring finger is Under My Trenchcoat from Sephora by OPI as well ($10). And, yes, my rings are beautiful. I know.

Have any of you guys tried this trend? I'm thinking red and orange would be a fun combo to do next...because those are the only colors I have left! ..though I haven't been able to get this minty green one from Essie out of my mind since I repinned it...

I need some ideas! What nail polish colors are you coveting for the summer?

Elaine....again

What? Every post needs a cat picture.

I've recently been pondering the purpose of this blog. I started it two years ago when I had no style and no money and barely any clothes. It was my fun little experiment to see how creative I can get. I think I deserved a C. Maybe a C+. At first I wanted to keep it strictly about fashion, style, clothes, and the like. This blog was never meant to be a personal blog. It was a place where I could put up pictures of myself for strangers to see. But you can only talk about clothes for so long until something else comes up.

After several of you guys took this survey, some of you wanted to know more personal details and I thought, "OK, I gotta be more interesting." And I tried...and failed. Mostly because I'm not interesting...and I was still conflicted with this whole personal blog vs. style blog madness. So my blogging enthusiasm dwindled. And I think many of you sensed it. (Sixth sense??) So last night I finally decided I needed to do something about it.. I made another blog. This may or may not be a bad idea. I'm just creating more work for myself! I probably won't post on it as frequently as I do here but I needed a separate space for something other than clothes, fashion, and style.

I toyed with the idea of transforming Clothed Much into a personal blog but like I mentioned before that's not the purpose of this blog. I've got some big things coming up for Clothed Much so don't think I'm abandoning it!

I've already moved most of my personal posts from Clothed Much to my new blog. So if you're looking for a particular post and for some reason it's gone (!!!) it's probably on Elaine Again.

I have a new post up on Elaine Again for things to do in Salt Lake City from a reader question. Check it out if you're a local or if you're planning on going to SLC soon. They're some of Chase's and my favorite joints. I know I dog on Utah but I secretly miss SLC -- cheap rent, my parking spot, free public transportation (for students), all the good eats, close shopping... That's it. I've been on the hunt for the perfect modest knee-high shorts for a while. Bermuda shorts? No, thanks. Tight knee-high shorts showcasing my thunder thighs? Mmmmaybe.
