Friday Recap (yes, already)

Today I wore a maroon scarf (gift from a blog friend), H&M white shirt ($10), Old Navy brown belt ($10 - buy it!), secondhand Gap flared jeans ($9), and Target clog sandals (gift from my in-laws) with a vintage Gucci bucket bag ($3). My belt was also slowly coming undone and nobody even told me. Just because I sit all day doesn't mean I don't care about how my belt looks. But I guess no one knew that.

On Monday I threw on one of Chase's plaid shirts, my J Brand black jeans, and a maroon scarf. I guess I wore some shoes too...and like five bags. They don't serve any purpose. They're just for looks.

Hi, my name is... by Kari

Elaine asked me to come hang out with you cats every so often and I am just delighted.  I may or may not look familiar - Elaine did a street style post on me not too long ago.  (PS everyone was soo nice when she posted that.  Thank you!)  We met at church and discovered our shared passion for fashion and we've been friends since.  So why am I posting on Elaine's super cool blog?  Who am I?  Well....let me tell you.  My name is Kari and I live in LA and work as an assistant with my hubby and my puppy.  I write a random blog about who knows what over here.  I've been married for about 3 1/2 years and living in LA for 2 1/2.  I love fashion, food, photography, music, my stinky bulldog, 30 Rock and anything peanut butter and chocolate.   I plan to share my sweet shopping finds (I work at a shopping mall - hello sales!), trends I'm loving (mmm...brights for spring!), outfit posts (I'm a little more camera shy than Elaine, I'd rather be behind the camera), and whatever else!  I really hope you enjoy it!!

Crown Braid Tutorial

So Chase and I tried to make a video but apparently I can't think, talk, and braid all at once because I'm stupid. Don't mind my pretty [makeup-less] face. I had just got home from the gym and had the perfect dirty, messy hair to do this.

• bobby pins
• hairspray - spritz at the end
• strong arms

I don't wear a lot of jewelry. When I do, I like to make a statement but still keep it simple. The easiest way to do that is with bib necklaces. Are they still in? I haven't seen a lot of people wearing them lately. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop now! I have one I've worn quite a bit on the blog. KUTE Clothes has this black bib necklace in stock right now. I would wear it with an all-white outfit or even with a pink-red-orange color blocking outfit. (That's the best thing about the color black...it matches everything.)
