The Bare Minimum by Melissa

Have you ever had those days where you have to get up early on a Sunday after having a consistent week to staying up late? On those days my mood is reflected in my outfit. No heels, a comfy t-shirt, and cozy socks while still looking (or trying to look) presentable for church.

By the way when I left my house on this particular morning it was totally raining - I mean, an L.A. downpour. No worries - I love any excuse to wear my rainboots (like these here)! Disregard the frizzy hair -it was wet when I left my house....

I tried to offset the casualness of the t-shirt and boots with necklaces. The large pink one is actually a broach I put on an extra chain I had lying around.

What am I wearing? J. Crew t-shirt, Anthropologie skirt, Gap knee-highs, and Target rainboots.

So what are your essentials on those days you would rather sleep than get ready?

  1. I really like casual looks. I just bought black stretchy pants that look like nice tailored pants with pockets and everything - so I'm very excited to use these on my days when I'd rather sleep than get ready. Hopefully they'll lead people into thinking that I spent even 15 minutes getting ready instead of hitting the snooze button 3 times!

  2. I think the outfit is adorable.  And I HATE the days that it's supposed to rain/is raining and I wear rainboots and then later its 80 and sunny and everyone things I'm mental.
Essentials on days I would rather sleep: hair in bun, gap jeans, vneck tee from american apparel (so soft) and a red boyfriend sweater.  and always jewelry. it helps.
