Shoes on the (Birthday) Brain...

Wednesday, November 16, 2011
I try not to post too many wishlist items because it just reminds me that I can't afford them. But it's my birthday today and my oyster is the world!!!! Ever since my trusty $8 thrifted brown boots died, there's been a void in my life (and closet). I've kept my eye out while thrifting to find another pair by miracle but no luck yet. Stupid warm L.A. weather! (JK. I love the weather here.)

With brown boots on the mind and it being my birthday and all, I've been doing some "window" shopping and found two comfortable, durable pairs that should last me a while. Both are +$200 so, unfortunately, only one can be an option... Even then it shouldn't be an option but we're just going to ignore that part. :)

First option is the Ugg Channing. I'm so glad Ugg has more options than their typical boots because although they are an eye-sore, they are pretty comf. I'm still wary about these boots because besides the fact that they are almost $300 (cringe), I'm not sure how their shoe widths are. I have pretty wide feet and some brands accommodate in their regular widths and others don't so it's always a guessing game.

The other option is the Tsubo Galvani. I LOVE Tsubo shoes. I have two pairs:  Kiho boots and Deba heels. They're super comf. They have a bit of an alien-foreign look to them that can be a bit off-putting sometimes so I was very surprised and happy when I saw these brown ankle boots. I can definitely get on board these. And they are $100 less than the Channing boots! $200!

Which boots are more your style?

Update:  I probably won't get them. :( Chase just checked our bank accounts. Eat to survive or shoes? Food or shoes.... I hate decisions!!!!!

  1. I like the Tsubo boots - love that they're ankle boots and have a heel for a little added height. :)

  11. Love the Ugg Channing of those choices.  Have you looked at Frye boots?  They are a big investment, but they last for a lifetime and then some.  They are my favs.  :)

  14. Happy Birthday!  I have wide feet, and had to try on lots of boots (over several years) before I found a pair that worked for me.  They were inexpensive, so maybe they won't last forever, but I love them.  From Delia's. http://store.delias.com/item.do?itemID=56978&categoryID=556

  17. I like the first pair, mostly because I LIVE in my ugg boots (the normal ugly fluffy kind that should not be allowed to be worn in public but I can't help it because it's like wrapping my feet in marshmallows aka SO COMFY) Also, I think the knee-high and flat sole would get a lot more use than high heeled boots. Plus, the riding boot is a classic style that probably wont be going out of style anytime soon, and I think it's fine to spend a lot of money on them. The ankle boots, I think are more trendy and not as versatile.

The two pairs are kind of hard to compare because they're so different in terms of heel height, shaft height, dressy/casual, and price, so it's really up to you what you see more of a need for! :)

    ...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

  18. Happy belated birthday! I actually find forever21 boots to be of surprisingly decent quality. I have 3 pairs that I wore all through last fall, winter and early spring and they are still holding up!
