thrifted sequin sweater ($5), secondhand choker necklace ($5), maxi skirt made from a thrifted IKEA curtain ($3)

Okay, despite last week's sequin outfit mishap, THIS I loved wearing. It looks simple because it is. The colors are all in the same family:  cream, gold, dark green. There is pattern-mixing along with some sequin and bling. I think I was trying too hard last time. I feel more myself when it's simple. So I think this means I should resort to t-shirt and jeans for the rest of my life.

Have I just not been paying attention? you made this skirt in both the a knee length AND maxi length? That's pretty awesome. Maybe you can wear the knee-length one as a top with the maxi, and you can look like a curtain for real.

Same-family colors - I'll have to remember that. Still learning everything. You look lovely.

I love that pattern mixing is subtle and that the stripes are sequin. Such a subtle outfit that makes a statement.

I've fallen for your sweater! Stripes and sequins are on top of my favorite things, so seeing them together is great!

Wow, this outfit is awesome.  Can't believe you made the skirt from a curtain!

This is really lovely, the maxi dress really tones down the sequins and makes them seem a lot more 'day time' appropriate.

Yea! Thanks for this post!  I just bought a green maxi skirt on sale at Anthro and was trying to come up with ways to style it.
