Last summer I won $1,500 to JCPenney from College Fashion + $50 from Kansas Couture recently and I finally spent it all. I thought I'd show you all the things I spent it on and then list the rest of it to see how far I stretched it or didn't.
The clothes you've seen on the blog...
I spent some on work-out clothes and bras. I HATE bra shopping -- a necessary evil. But I did find one at JCP that I love right now. I bought two. That should cover me for another year, I think.
Then Chase and I had to be adults or something and get towels! and a doormat! and frying pans! Boo to responsibilities!
Besides all that, we bought Chase a pair of shoes that were coming apart after a week and a few pairs of jeans; we bought my brother new clothes when he got off his mission; sold some gift card money on eBay; bought presents for people... I think that's it.
So really I didn't buy much for myself like I wanted. Mostly because JCPenney doesn't cater to people my size AKA smaller than a size 4/6. ALL of their clothes were too big on me so when I did find something that fit, it was almost exciting, which is why I focused most of my credit on accessories and shoes. After all that, I'm still not a fan of JCPenney clothing. It's sub-par quality and they use cheap fabrics and materials that will either get stretched out or worn out after a few washes so it was probably a good thing most of their clothes didn't fit me. The quality of their accessories and shoes aren't that great either. (Remember my sob story about my nude platforms?) Most of my jewelry feel cheap and some of the stones have come off one of my necklaces that I had to glue back on. What I am happy with are my towels. They seem to be doing their job so far. And the frying pans seem to be pretty sturdy. I'm kind of excited to use them. I guess I'm an adult now.
Anyway, that's my two cents about JCPenney. Not to say I'm not grateful that I won both giveaways. Of course, I am! I love free stuff!!! It's just if I had real money, JCPenney would not be the first place I would think of to go shopping...for anything. One thing I regret is not buying a pair of sneakers. I actually put it off a couple times because sneaker shopping is one of the worst right next to bra-shopping and jean-shopping. K, now I'm stepping off my soapbox.
