Miu Miu Glitter & Suede Bow Peep Toe Ankle Boots, $890!!!!!

Charlotte Russe Pleated Velvet Glitter Bootie, $42.50

These Miu Miu booties have been seen all over fashion-blogging land. And by that I mean exclusively by the rich and famous. I wasn't a fan but the more I'm seeing them, the more I like 'em. Charlotte Russe got all over that and produced a total copy cat! Besides the platform and the slight inward curve of the heel, it's a pretty good cheaper version...much cheaper. Save over $800!!!

What do you think? Would you splurge on the real deal (cringe) or save?

  2. Wow they are quite similar! But the Miu Mius just flow so much nicer, you can tell that they are more expensive ;) But the CR ones are a great substitute! :)

  3. Oooooo, I think I need the thrifty version!

  4. That is an outrageous price for a pair of shoes. I don't consider that a splurge; I consider it robbery!

  5. That's why I love Charlotte Russe their same for waaaaay less shoes are adorbs, the quality might not be the best but let's be honest? how much could one wear these? I liked them cause they are very unique, but I've tried to think how to wear them and nothing comes up yet!

  6. I wouldn't spend 800+ dollars on a pair of shoes, but you can tell that the Miu Miu shoes are a better quality shoe, or a least a nicer design.

  7. Save! Though I'm absolutely in love with the Miu Mius, I can't afford them! I'd save!

  8. I don't really like the copies. If I can't afford some  original shoes, bags, clothes...I wouldn't buy a copy. Oh well, even if I can afford to pay over 1000 € for a pair of shoes, I wouldn't. It's such too much money for only a pair of shoes. But I wouldn't spent 60-100 € in a copy neither.I prefer another pair in the same price range. Lately, most low cost shops try to copy the expensive brands designs, I'd prefered that they make their own designs (Zara is a great example of that, they used to have own designs, now they mostly copy brand's clothes).

  9. Save! Those are pretty flashy for me, so I may not wear them too often. For sure not $890 often.
Besides I always prefer a platform and sturdy heel!

  14. What a conundrum...I don't support ripping off artist/designers....but I also don't support insane prices.....solution: stick with my glitter Toms? Not quite as fancy.

  15. I have to admit I liked the charlotte russe version better before I even read any of the text! i think it's the thicker heel that does it. as a college student, even $42 is a lot, but I do really like these!

  16. Total deal! I have the ones from CR and LOVE them! :) As a college student, I love looking fabulous, but on a budget of course. I'm in love with the originals, but this version allows me to get the same look, for much less!

  17. Save!!!
Shoes that cost more than $100 should have a 500% tax on them, with the money going towards education or feeding the poor.  I'm not a socialist, but apparently I favor high taxes on luxury items.

  18. Those are quite the shoes! I certainly would not spend $890 as I think these are quite trendy... I'm not even sure I would pay $42.50 for them either only because I know that CR shoes are cheaply made and they probably would KILL my feet after a short time but they are fun to look at :)

  20. I really prefer the yellow suede over the brown velvet but there is no way you would catch me dropping $900 on a pair. of. shoes.

  21. Honestly, even $42.50 is way more than I'd spend right now.

  22. I think I even like the silhouette of the steal better - less awkward! Thanks for finding these bad boys!

  23. How interesting.  I used to think I was against knock-offs until I realized that everything's a knockoff!  That said, I prefer the yellow color, love the sparkles on both, and am a just little skeeved out by the peep toe on both (I know it's a trendy feature of today's boots, but I just can't seem to get on board.)

  24. It is VERY interesting because I have come to that realization as well. Where does the original and "inspiration" begin? Or is everything interwoven and no one can truly claim a design as their own?

  25. they look almost identical! SAVE, of course! :)
