Old Navy shirt ($12), bib necklace (giveaway win), thrifted Ralph Lauren PJ bottoms ($5), Cotton On sandals ($7),  vintage bag ($15)

Okay, so I know I totally look like a clown in these pajama bottoms but I LOVE them! I don't usually keep up with current trends but I knew I was going to have to get all over it the moment I saw these loose, printed bottoms. When I first got them, they were a colorful navy with tan stripes and 100% silk and I am 100% stupid for throwing them into the wash without seeing that they were DRY CLEAN ONLY. A;LSDKJFLAKJDFJL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now they're a dull blue with cream lines. I know it's no big deal because let's face it... they are pretty awesome. But I'm still beating myself over the head for not knowing how to do laundry at the ripe age of almost 24. (I say almost 24 because 23 is like soooo young.)

The day I wore these I got a great compliment from a co-worker. She told me she loved how I dressed because I didn't care about what other people thought and did what I wanted anyway! It was just nice to hear a real person say that even though I am a total wimp compared to other fashionistas out there. ..Not like you guys aren't real people!! It's different when you hear it in person from a stranger than read it on the internet from a stranger, you know? It just made me realize I need to compliment others IRL more often. It's not like some trophy where only a few people win. We're all winners! Some more than others...like that guy at church that wore a black leather jacket with a red dragon on the back. You're a winner!

I still think the pants look AWESOME! it's ok... we all have our laundry mishaps. Last week, I put a silk chiffon dress under water when it's dry clean only and now the fabric is permanently water damaged. :(

I think this is actually quite bold! Wearing two patterns can be a risk, but I love how you pared it  and accessorized with the bib necklace. It also looks super comfortable while being fashionable.

I have laundry drama a lot too. They are still lovely and you are not clownish.

I know what you mean.  IRL people are always telling me how great I am and after a while it just becomes background noise...meaningless.  LOL!

Fun and edgy.  Rock that big top!  (The circus, that is.  I didn't mean that your shirt is big!)

Oh my goodness! Those pants are amazing! I don't think I would ever have the confidence to wear them though, haha. You go girl!

I totally love this outfit. I keep searching for similar pants but keep coming up empty handed. I have clearly been bypassing the pajama section. DUH, KATIE. Thank you! Hopefully I'll find myself a pair soon enough. :)

These pants ARE amazing, they look great on you. I feel the same way about the complements, every time I get one in person it reminds me that I needs to give out more. (Even to strangers)

I TOTALLY KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN.  Sorry to yell at you, but I felt the connection and had to shout it.  The other day my officemate told me she looks forward to seeing what I'm wearing everyday, and I was like WOOOOOOW that is amazing, only to remember that I have an entire internet persona dedicated to that whole idea.  I guess it feels good to hear it/not read it sometimes?

P.S.  HOT PANTS (shouting again).

Love those pants! I'm going to be storytelling at an elementary school pajama night in a few weeks. I was wondering how to go with the theme and still be dressed-up enough to feel confident in front of a crowd. I see now that silk pjs are the answer! :)

I've so far managed not to ruin too many things in the wash, although I did shrink a wool vest I got at the thrift store. I didn't realize it was ALL wool, and just assumed anything from a thrift store had been in a dryer before. I was wrooong.

You definitely don't look like a clown; you look awesome!  Stumbled onto your site and am delighted.  Thanks for such a refreshing look at fashion and for being confident enough to rock your beliefs as well as brave enough to wear what you want.  Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much, Liesel! And welcome! :)
