Stuck

Wednesday, September 07, 2011
The past three times I've worn these skants, I've worn my nude pumps with them. As you can see, I'm obviously a bit stuck now. (..as well as my face. What the WHAT is going on?) I think it's because these pants are so long and I feel like I can't wear anything but my highest heels which are currently these pumps. Plus, they're nude so they automatically make my legs look longer! Or do they? I don't know. I'm not a scientist. So for the time being, you'll just see the top half change until I find some more sky-high heels!

I'm wearing a thrifted Forever 21 top ($6), JCPenney necklace (free), vintage culottes ($6), JCPenney pumps (free), and vintage bag ($15).

  1. I love your skants! <--that sounds dirty to me LOL I used to have a pair but they were too long and I scuffed up the bottoms so I couldn't keep em :T  I need to get myself something mustard, must have color of the fall season!

  5. Ooh, this might be my favorite way you've worn the skants! Hey, if I had those pumps I would never take them off. They are FABULOUS. (You have to say that like Tim Gunn.)

  6. Yep, scientifically your legs are longer.

  7. Nude pumps do make your legs look longer.  And those shoes are fabulous!  I love everything about this outfit.

  8. I had a pair of wide-leg capris that are nowhere as cute as your skants, but I would pair them with knee-high boots. That way, the line of your leg is uninterrupted and looking just as long and sexy as ever. I got soooo many compliments on that outfit that I'm considering a revisit when the temp goes down!

  9. Not a scientist, but a terrific illusionist--just about the legs looking longer.

  10. I love these skants on you! (even though skants sounds like something you would say when you stub your toe) They are such a great color.

  14. Beautiful shoes! I love nude pumps and they look great on you, so why change? :)

  15. I know this may sound like a fashion no-no since the skants are shorter and flared... but I think it would look way adorable with maybe a blue-ish flowy, floral print tunic, belted of course.

  16. Looks great! I see no need to change. ;) Love the top!

  17. Every time you say skants, I automatically think "skanks."

Why not try those berry heels with them? I love berry and camel together.

  18. Really cute pants/culottes!! Love love love! If your uncomfortable with the length, you could hem them up to the length you want. Although I don't think your legs look short.

  19. I have never heard of skants before but your outfit is super cute :)

  20. I think a great pair of leopard flats would make a great casual look. If you think of the skants like a midi skirt that might help.

I absolutely love the color of the skirt.

  22. I have a pair of nudes and they're the highest ones I have too! I can't stop wearing them. I love your skants!

  23. I've always felt pretty comfortable with midi skirts and my shorter height.  But I experimented with heels with my outfit at a store and I must say it was absolutely magical how they can change a whole outfit around.

  24. I think the taller heels work really well with these culottes because of their longer length. I thought you were wearing a skirt at first until I saw that these were actually culottes in your description :)

  25. gosh. every time to wear these I feel soooo jealous.

  27. Based on your earlier post on scants, i got inspired and made a casual cullotte for self. Plan to do a pleated culotte as i am celebrating Sew Skirts September all this month!

  30. I just love those skants!!! You could try them with black pumps or something? But I like the nude, and if its not broke, don't fix it ;)

  31. Haha...that totally happens to me too, where I feel like two things absolutely have to go together. Like lamb and tunafish. (I hope you get that reference, otherwise, I just seem like a weirdo). Luckily, you've got a winning combo there, Elaine, so you can stay "stuck" away! =)

  32. I love the nude heels but I think you could go with some cute wedges, too? I'd love to see you try them once with flats, though - I agree with the other commenter who said to think of these as a midi skirt :)

  33. Very cute pants, I'd try pairing them with some wedges too. A shoe in red would really pop!

  34. I love this outfit! You look great! and I especially love puffy sleeves! :)

  35. I think these babies would look good with green. Got any forest green shoes? I bet you'd still look cute wearing them with flats, too.

  36. I love these culottes! They do look great with the nude pumps. Have you thought about pairing them with your berry heels? Just a thought. Either way, this outfit is so ladylike and chic.
