Not Quite Spill-Proof

Tuesday, September 06, 2011
Ever since I saw this pin on Pinterest, I knew I had to recreate it! (Hmm, this sounds familiar..) I would've never thought to pair this military green with hot pink! The stark contrast between the dark and neon still astounds me. J.Crew, how do you do it?!?

Don't you love that I have a bunch of extra fabric just hanging out having a party by itself? Someone needs to make spill-proof shirts! ..or I'm going to have to start tucking my shirts into my underwear. Who's with me?!?

  2. Is it weird if I say your butt looks great?  As someone lacking in the derriere department I'm a bit jealous.

  7. Victoria's Secret has those button up body suits and I am always SO TEMPTED. I mean, sure, it's a leotard, but your shirt would never come untucked!!

  8. LOL, you look lovely, extra fabric and all!  I have to turn off the ceiling fan in the morning before I tuck in my shirt while getting ready for work.  Once the shirt is tucked, no more reaching up. =)

  16. This outfit has me convinced that a hot pink pencil skirt needs to move from the WANT to NEED list. :)

  17. Love the color combo -- have you tried using WD-40 to get the grease stain out? --http://www.housecleaningcentral.com/en/cleaning-tips/stain-removal/grease-stain.html

  18. I'm kinda thinkg the over billowy blouse thing, yeah that's what those wretched bodysuits are for. I've seen modernized versions, yet I doubt they are comfortable.

  19. I'm so guilty of tucking my shirt into my underwear! It's just the thing to do! But the bunching extra fabric actually looks good on you! :D

I saw a similar skirt but got the aqua colored one, only because I have way to much pink in my wardobe! But pink with army green..wow I don't know if I can even pull that off! :D

  32. I might have already started tucking my shirts into my underwear, the extra fabric spill is beyond annoying! Gorgeous outfit, I love the black and pink combination

  33. Love this combo! I can't get enough of the pink skirt either. It goes with absolutely everything. The art of the half-tucked silk shirt still eludes me. They need to design silk shirt "onsies" that have snaps down below.

  34. LOL. I have sensory issues and I always have to have something between my waist and my pants or skirt, so I often tuck my shirt into my underwear (but it's usually a tank top underneath something else.

  35. loving the skirt AND the necklace. total clothes envy over here!

  36. I have been reading your blog for like, a year, but I lurk and don't comment because I never know what to say but I wanted to comment this time on your spillage problem. I have the same issue!!!

You could try shirt stays. My husband is in the Navy and to keep their shirts tucked in super tight they use these things called shirt stays that are like garters that fastened to the bottom of their shirts to the tops of their socks. They're made from elastic and they have the same kind of fastenings that pantyhose garters have. Pants-less its pretty hilarious, but you can't tell he has them on when he's fully dressed. Since you are not wearing socks I'm not sure what you could do though. I used to safety pin the bottom of my shirt to my undies until I got poked once. If there was some way to do that without it involving sharp objects.... like removable velcro or something....
