Neutrally Nude
This is my go-to color. Always. It matches everything! Why not? It’s nude! When picking out your neutrally nude colors, go for a shade lighter or darker than your skin tone so it doesn’t look like your skin has melded into your nails. To make it a little more distinct (and shiny), go for a high gloss. Check out Revlon's Nail Enamel in Sheer Nude, $4.79.
If you love words, we found a way for you to have them on your neutrally nude nails! All you need is newspaper, isopropyl alcohol, and a top coat. Check out the instructions here. Make sure you can read French.
Bright pastels
This is one of my favorite nail trends and I am always glad to see it on the runway! For this trend, think almost neon colors like bright pinks and oranges. If you don’t have any neon nail polishes lying around, use white for a base before you put on a red, pink, or orange nail polish on. Check out Nicole by OPI's Believe It Do It, $7.19.
Spring Pastels
Who can say no to light pink, peach, lavender, and baby blue? They all just scream spring! When picking out these colors, think Easter and spring colors and you’re on the right track...unless we have completely different opinions on Easter and spring colors. One of my favorite colors for this trend is mint green. It was hot in 2010 and it’s still hot. I am looking for the perfect shade and I think I found it: Essie’s Mint Candy Apple, $8.
Dark, almost black!
Black is overrated! The new black is a super dark wannabe black. The best part is this trend will look great in any color! Try it in a dark red with Essie's Vintage Wine, $7.50.
Ring Finger Gone Rogue
If you’re itching for a change in how you do your nails but don’t want to go overboard, paint your ring finger nails a few shades lighter or darker than the rest of your nails. If you’re feeling wild, paint them something drastically different like I did here!

I can't do pastels but I am all over that "almost black"
ReplyDeleteI'm currently loving spring pastels and glittlery gold nail on only one finger!

I love the idea of the newspaper manucure. I also saw it on Style by Santina not so long ago. She gave the link to an English video showing how to make it. Here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kcdt4_5Ncc&feature=player_embedded
ReplyDeleteI love neutral/nude nail colors! I tend to stay away from dark colors.. though I love them on other people's nails.
ReplyDeleteOh I *just* posted about glitter nails on my blog today....just sprinkle a bit of glitter at the tips...understated and pretty! Here's the link if anyone is interested:

Well, I got a little confused with the seasons in this post - boy, how I wish spring was indeed just around the corner instead of fall - but it's safe to say that pastels are one of my go-to's all year long when it comes to nail polish! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too. I can't do dark colors either.
ReplyDeleteWait, are you being sarcastic? Because I know fashion week is for spring/summer 2012 but we just got out of summer, what pedicure? Where are the neon colors? =P I hate how they try to make us so excited for a season and then its skipped and everyone is looking forward to the next season. Stop and smell the roses people! ITs always reaching ahead further and further.. I find it annoying..
