This church outfit was inspired by Emersonmade. I loved the red and black together. I'll probably try it again with a black turtleneck in the winter when it dips down to 50 (jealous?!?). And doesn't this skirt remind you of Joan from Mad Men? I feel sexy whenever I wear this, which is probably why I don't wear it very often. Sexy is not one of my adjectives.. Cute little Asian? Yes. I do the "little Asian" very well!!

I don't know about you but I'm getting sick of wearing this hairstyle all. the. time!! I need some new ideas. If you need me, I'll be pinning.... In the mean time, tell me YOUR favorite hairstyles! Go!
I'm wearing a JCPenney necklace (free), thrifted Forever 21 top ($5), vintage skirt ($6), and JCPenney pumps (free).

Love this look, that skirt is awesome and the statement necklace adds a nice touch!!
i'm with ya on that one...i wear my hair in a top knot all. the. time. it's just so easy to do, and i'm lazy bones! if you find a new hairstyle as easy as this for the lazy-inclined, hook a sista up :)
You are cute, little, asian AND sexy! Bam! Hmm, what about a loose side braid/fishtail braid? A low chignon (centered or to the side)? I usually go for the half-up hairdo because I'm super lazy with my hair. You can also try to buy some texturzing pray to change it up when it's just down.

Hahaha, thanks, Lidi!!! ..especially for the new ideas! Those are ideas I see in my Reader and Pinterest oft but never think to apply. That is changing now! ...or tomorrow!
You've probably already done this, but I would love to see a photo editing tutorial from you! I always love how sharp and bright your photos are!
I've actually never done it! It's not that fancy so maybe I'll try it in the future ;)
Great minds must think alike since I've been loving the black and red combo, as well! :)
Great minds for sure!!
Ok my last comment got eaten.
What I'd written was - the red skirt is the perfect pencil skirt
i've always been fond of a black, red & white color combo! love your skirt! :-)

Such a cute outfit!!! Love the whole look.
Very cute look. It's clean, classic, and vibrant.
Red and black is a classic combo. I love how you can rock a longer length pencil skirt (midi??)
Classy lady! This is pure sophistication! ... I personally love your bun, but I understand we get tired, I love side messy buns, you should try it ;)

Very Mad Men indeed! Gotta love a skirt that makes you look as good as you feel!
Yes to black and red! But I've been doing more black and hot pink/magenta/fuchsia these days. Yes that skirt would make a lot of us feel totally sexy!
As for hair styles, I just got my self some side swept bangs, it adds character to the up do that we're all stuck with when we're on the go :D So, still an up do, but with bangs :D
Love the outfit and your bun!

Love that outfit! Not sure I'm brave enough to wear a skirt that bright but you look fantastic! :) x

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5JZOVnSjjE don't know if you have ever tried the gibson tuck but i plan on trying it out. it looks so simple and comfortable!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2XDAkw141Q&feature=fvwrel i love this woman's hairstyles, they are always so interesting
I don't think I have ever met someone who rocks the pencil skirt as well as you do!
I love the fit of that skirt, and sexy is good, if done right (which you did)!!
Such an elegant look! It´s been a while since I´ve worn a pencil skirt. Looking at your outfit makes want to wear one right now!
Short haired chignon! http://www.bloglovin.com/m/2521588/299547636/a/0/aHR0cCUzQSUyRiUyRnRoZWJlYXV0eWRlcGFydG1lbnQuY29tJTJGMjAxMSUyRjA5JTJGc2hvcnQtaGFpci1jaGlnbm9uJTJG Sandra xx
Hah, I'm the worst person to ask about hairstyles. I either wear mine long and loose, up in a curled bun in the heavy heats, or in some sort of pony-tail or other. I never really learned to 'do my hair'. That skirt looks great on you though, you should totally wear it more often.
GAH, this outfit is perfection.
Hate to break it to you, but you definitely look sexy! Love the red and black, and you're right there is something Mad Men about it. I <3 EmersonMade she offers up so much lovely inspiration.
For my thin, asian hair I love the fishtail braid! Good for any&all occasions. I also love the classic high pony tail for when im rushing out the house :)
aces on that skirt for $6!
So classy, Elaine! And your hair looks really good styled that way. No one will get tired of it :) x
Cute!!! Thanks for the links!
Love the black and red and chic bun!
Nice look :)

I love that top. I'm all about puff sleeves. I have a few favorite hairstyles. My most favorite is what I call my "Audrey Style" (for Audrey Hepburn of course). It's a beehive/pompadour type of style with bangs in the front. It looks way better than it sounds ^_^
Red and black is always perfect! Love the white shoes!
Elaine, you ARE hot. Rawr. No really, I think you're gorgeous. And I always wanted to be little. But instead I'm taller than my dates sometimes. Which is annoying and weird. I've been doing the side braid lately because I'm lazy. I just curl the front pieces and whip it back. But I guess that requires longish hair?
Loooove this look! And it is super sexy. It's hard not to feel sexy in red and black.
I've been pinning a bunch of hair ideas, but I've only tried a few, namely Heidi braids and this twisty style: http://www.laurenconrad.com/post/hair-how-to-twisted-updo
ohhh, you do look fineee in that skirt...and yes, totally jelly over the 50 temps.
such a sophisticated look!!
You look amazing. My two favorite color combination.!
*I'm not sure if this will work for your hair but when you are going to bed part it any desired way, just double twist a couple of pieces with any substance that has a hold or something secure it with a scrunchie and sleep on it and wake up and effortless waves unless you are a hair up kind of girl then I would have other suggestions for you =]
Oh I love how polished this look is! The red & black combination is beautiful! I actually really like this hairstyle, I wish I could make it myself - and have it actually last for more than a few minutes :P
And yes, totally jealous of your 50 degree winters!
you look amazing in this skirt! the length and color are perfectly flattering!
