Sweatpants at work?

Monday, August 22, 2011
This is the second installment of the "... at work?" series. This is where I test my work dress code boundaries. You can see the first one here. Now I'm just begging to get fired.. But they're so comfortable! ..like pajamas! ...work pajamas!! Have any of you guys pulled off the sweats at work? Yeah? We can be unemployed together. <3

I loved my work pajamas so much I wore them twice..! Possibly the following day. You'll never know. ...unless you saw me both days. Then you would. But you probably didn't. Or did you? Stop stalking me!

  7. You've got at least two there for the Hall of Fame!

When I worked in the Smithsonian's central budget office, all the guys there and in management wore suits and ties all the time--it didn't amtter how hot it was in the room.  I started taking my jacket off at the start of meetings and unbuttoning my top button.  At first people looked at me like I had committed a crime.  But when they saw I didn't care and it didn;t affect the meeting in any way, soon all the older guys were doing the same thing.  I felt like I set them free.  But they refused to follow me into wearing jeans to work.  It was kind of a stuffy (19th century-like) place then.  Thankfully things have changed.

  8. Eh...not quite a fan. Maybe add a belt, maybe if they weren't in that heather gray color - like a navy blue or black. But mad props for being daring enough to wear them, and they do look very comfortable.

  9. Woah, you are a brave, brave person. I'm not so sure...I'm not a fan of sweatpants anyways (I only own a pair for winter running), but you are rocking them! I think the heels help!

  10. This is soooo my M.O. haha. My goal in life is to always feel as if I'm in pajamas, or better yet, bedsheets! Loving your look, I must say! You definitely dressed them up, I think! :)

  26. I think with a less loose top I would have considered it totally work appropriate...still looks good though!

  27. I love the way you styled your "work sweatpants" with the bright pumps. Almost makes it work appropriate ;)

  28. Your outfit looks so comfy!! That's one of the benefits of not having a uniform, as uniforms are sometimes uncomfortable :/

  32. That is the coolest thing ever! You are seriously rocking that outfit. You made those sweats look chic. Good job!

  33. u pull those pants of so fabulously!

  34. If all sweats looked this chic on us they would be allowed at work lol

    ReplyDelete
  35. You look great in your sweats! Very appropriate for work the way you have a stylish look going on.

My idea of sweats is over sized frumpy bottoms with a hooded sweatshirt. That look would NOT go over well at work! :)

  36. This seems totally inappropriate for work; aren't jeans just as comfortable and 10x more stylish?

    ReplyDelete
  37. SOOOO CUTE!!! I wish I could pull that off...

  38. Haha! Wow, lucky you!
Getting to dressed casual for work on most workdays is great!
    Looking good ;)
