Wore this to church on Sunday. This was actually taken right outside our building. I think someone (me) was getting a little impatient hungry cranky.... Oh, who am I kidding.. It was all of 'em.

You're probably wondering if your computer has gone wonky or if I really am this washed out. It may be your computer. Or someone's lack of sun from a desk job and dressing in pastels (me). I love it though -- the pastels...not the lack of sun. We were running late (again) so I reached for the light colors in my closet and came up with this! Pastels unite!

I got this flower-on-your-skirt-waistband idea from Lisa. She looked totes adorbs with her flower on her skirt that I had to steal it! I've only worn it on my hat, jacket, shirt, and belt. Never on a skirt alone!!!! It's about to get flower-crazy up in here!!

I'm wearing a JCPenney button-up (free), flower headband (giveaway win from Wanderlustings) pinned to a vintage skirt ($6), and JCPenney pumps (free).
Love this look!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like the pastels on you! Such a pretty contrast with your dark hair.
ReplyDeleteLOL, you don't look cranky or impatient, but they do both go very well with hungry. Honestly, you look happy and sleek.
ReplyDeletePastels unite? Yes and also please. I really like the combination of the patterns and colors. This outfit is totally getting pinned.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful look!!! I love how light these pieces are! I didn't even notice your skirt was a gingham pattern until the close up! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in these light pastels! Isn't Lisa the best? I would totally steal, er, borrow her shoe collection.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned previously that the heels kinda hurt your feet. Are you breaking them in? They look great on you, girl!

I, too, plan to steal Lisa's flower idea!! She is so stinkin' cute! And you look so sweet in pastels! It is a softer side of you... and it is nice! Really loving the color of that skirt and I have the SAME SHIRT! I will have to see if I can't do the shirt and a skirt (I don't have pastel) and a flower tomorrow... you have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great on you. I love the washed out pastel looks, your should totally rock the look for those of us that look worse in pastels.

I love that flower waistband idea. I am definitely going to add that into my Fall wardrobe when I break out the pencil skirts!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I just love that flower on your skirt waistband. I can't believe I've never thought of that before! I will definitely have to try that...maybe tomorrow. I don't think you look washed out at all but I feel ya. I work 9-5 and I just never really got tan this summer. I have definitely been rocking a pale leg in my photos.
ReplyDeleteYou do an amazing job styling pencil skirts!!!

ReplyDeletePastels are always OK. Looks super fabulous. I could never ever rock a flower that big. It would break every rule in my book.
ReplyDeleteI love the very subtle texture/print on this skirt and how it amplifies the interest when paired with this plaid. Very cool and subdued pattern mixing! (And the flower on belt idea is definitely something I love!)

I think I recognize where you took your photos at, because I'm LDS and used to live in L.A. too, lol. I think we switched places: I'm in Utah now, but I didn't actually come straight here from L.A., but from Orange County. Anyway. Makes me a little homesick. But I do love Utah, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit, and glad you linked to Lisa's blog. Love that, too.
I look terribly washed out in pastels but it doesn't stop me from wearing them. :) I think you look great!

Just got my September issue of InStyle yesterday, and on page 212 (I think that was the page number) is a pastel blue skirt almost just like yours! I thought of this post when I saw it.
ReplyDeletethe pastels lend a very feminine vibe...and i love the addition of the flower on your skirt. great ensemble.
ReplyDelete[oomph.]
I love the pastels and I would have never thought to add the flower... awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow, I LOVE this outfit! I don't think it washes you out at all, in fact I think the skirt really stands out. On that note, I have to say that I'm quite jealous of your pencil skirt collection, you always seem to find the most beautiful ones. The colour of this one is incredible!!
ReplyDeleteI love the flower on the skirt idea...it kind of reminds me of my prom dress that had a flower at the waist, except it's a lot prettier :D I need to find/make myself one of these pin flowers!
