Button Up Before You Go

Thursday, August 11, 2011
I got this shirt at a garage sale a few weeks ago. It has pollinating flowers on it. So I got it. Most importantly it was $1...!!! Holler. It's short and wide so it's perfect for nobody. I need to take it in...some day.

This outfit was the perfect throw-on that morning because I was running late. A silky (read: polyester) button-up and flared jeans always does the trick! ..as well as a top bun for unruly and uncooperative hair that obviously didn't get the memo that morning! Rude.

I'm wearing a vintage shirt ($1), necklace from Spain ($30), secondhand Gap jeans ($9), and Old Navy wedges ($15).

  12. I love this outfit on you, Elaine! Those jeans fit you perfectly, too. I would steal this entire ensemble if I had a machine that magically resized other people's clothes. In some circles, it is called a sewing machine, but I'm feeling lazy. :o)

  13. That is such an incredibly cute shirt, and I love it paired with the flares. I can't wait till my hair grows out long enough to put into a top knot.

  22. That shirt is cute, but knowing it is a $1 shirt makes it a hundred times better. What a steal! And you look super put together for running late - it must be because you are just a naturally fashionable lady.

  23. Haha,  you're so funny! When I first read that your shirt has pollinating flowers on it...I was like, "what??" But the close up shows that there are indeed pollinating flowers on that shirt. Love it! Who would have thought pollinating flowers could look so cute?

  25. Thrift stores are the best, I've gotten some of my favorite pieces at second hand stores over the years. Until you take it in, tucking totally works.
