Haute Pink

7/29/2011

Wore this to church a couple weeks ago. It's probably one of my favorite outfits! I love the mix of hot pink and light blue. I love it so much that I wore it twice. Does that mean I have to blog it again? The best part about this outfit is I didn't even have to think about it. It just came to me...like magic...or as some people would call it "having a sense of style." I think I got it, you guys...until I wake up tomorrow and suddenly have nothing to wear.....

I'm wearing a JCPenney cluster necklace (free), thrifted Gap chambray shirt ($4), vintage pink skirt ($6), and Ros Hommerson oxfords ($25) with a vintage brown bag ($15). And can someone please iron my skirt? It looks ridiculous! Kthxbye.

P.S. You still have two more days to enter to win a CTR necklace!

I am guilty of ironing NOTHING. I will put something on completely wrinkled with the belief that gravity's pull as I wear it will ease out the wrinkles. Which, actually, it usually does, so woo. Love the hot pink skirt... need me one of those for work!

Don't look at me, I never iron. I'm a big believer in pulling it out of the dryer damp and hanging it up straightaway.

Love the mix of pink and blue...I think I need to thrift a hot pink skirt, oddly enough I don't already have one?!

I have a skirt that is similar to this except that it is pale yellow. I absolutely love it, but it's such a light color that when I tuck a shirt into it you can see through the skirt (lovely.)

Of course, I wear a slip under the skirt, which takes care of modesty and prevents glimpses of my my underwear (tee hee), but do you have any suggestions on what to do to keep the bottom of my shirt from showing through the top of the skirt once I tuck my shirt in?

THANK YOU!

I would ron your skirt...but I do't even iron my own clothes, in fact I havea wrinkle ffree clothing policy that I try to stick to!

I LOVE this look! and the smiley pics! I'm definitely stealing this outfit.

and I don't iron, but I do take wrinkly things into the bathroom when I show so I can steam them. it works 5% of the time. Good enough for me!

This makes me sad... i thrifted a pink silk skirt like so... only to take it home and find that it was scandalously tight. So I gave it to my bestie...

Elaine Hearn said...

Hahaha, manly shoes?!?

Rick said...

Yes, you have to blog it again. =)

You always seem upbeat and high energy whenever you wear pink.  I don't think the shoes look manly, but maybe you could start a new trend--BF shoes to wear with BF shirts???

You look so sweet with this outfit. Maybe it's the pink? But I love it nonetheless! :)

Bravoerunway said...

No worries, if you have nothing to wear just put on a black top with the pink skirt or shorts with the blouse.  Love it!

Thanks Elaine. It was a fun time. I have a lot more to cover but it is taking me forever. I wore my hot pink skirt today after you inspired me :)

LOVE the combination of a chambray button-down with a bright pencil skirt - I will definitely be borrowing this idea once I have my closet back. :)

Elaine, I love the necklace immediately underneath the collar. Too cute!

I have an almost exact replica of that skirt (if yours has a Nordstrom Individualist Sportswear tag, I think we might be skirt sisters! I wore mine last here: http://quidquideris.blogspot.com/2011/06/harmonica-solo-day-4-30x30.html. They're the same down to the thin waistband). I've been trying to figure out how to remix it without it being overwhelmingly bold. Guess I'll have to add a chambray button down to my thrift wish list, because I love this look!

Elaineeeee, I love this. I am currently adding this to my pinterest so I can shamelessly copy this look later with my pink skirt. :) Classic.

My goodness, you are so freakin' adorable. I was immediately drawn to this post because of that beautifully vibrant skirt! I had just added "pink pencil skirt" to my shopping list, and then I happened upon this, coincidentally. I know, awesome, right? We're like, cosmically connected. I love how you paired it with something as rugged as a denim shirt!
