Let's red, white, and blue this!

Last Saturday, we had to get out car tires tuned up. My hour commute everyday took a toll on our poor little car :(. After we dropped it off, we walked to the Rose Gardens. I haven't walked that much since the Philippines last summer. I'm such a wimp now! Thank you, desk job.

I wore H&M sunnies ($1), Old Navy striped shirt ($12), thrifted blue pleated skirt ($3), secondhand Calvin Klein belt ($3), and Fitzwell flats ($75 - buy it!) with a vintage Gucci bag ($3).

Chase had to take some measurements for an installation for his studio project. Yeah, I don't know what that means either. We went to the California Science Center (the building across from the fountains) because it was free and we're cheapskates. We were the only adults there without kids. It was as awkward as it sounds.

P.S. Can anyone tell me where the post title is from?!? If you do, you get a million points.
P.P.S. Don't forget to enter to win a peach ruffle cardigan! Because you can never have enough peaches. I mean, ruffles. I mean, cardigans. I mean, what?

Oh my! I've living in La for a short amount of time and haven't even thought of going to the rose gardens! Thank you for telling us about the location :)

Crazy coincidence: the very next item in my GReader feed, after this post, was this Sartorialist photo of a girl wearing a black-and-white striped skirt and navy skirt: http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/2011/06/on-streetvia-savona-milan_30.html

Is Chase an architect?!  Also, all these patriotic posts are reminding me of the Legally Blonde II movie.  "Makes me want a hot dog REAL bad!"

Ha ha! My husband and I have found ourselves in the same position (only people w/o kids) and we've also found ourselves in the opposite position, meaning the only people under the age of 75. It keeps happening at restaurants, movie theaters, sheesh! I guess we have it coming to us because our names are Bob and Linda and we're only 30!

I love it.  But then again I'm particle I love stripes!

I love that you and Chase kind of color-coordinated your outfits...does that happen often and by coincidence?

P.S.  I totally would vote for the "republican stagehand" just for kicks and giggles :)

That's a perfect outfit for walking around! I'm a cheat so I googled the title. Is it Conan? Not a clue!

Hahah not that often and totally by coincidence.. Chase doesn't like it when we match by accident and he was determined to change when he saw my outfit but we were running late anyway so he didn't hahah!

Yes it is!

I love that skirt!

My boyfriend and I are very often the only ones without kids wherever we go, so I can totally understand the awkwardness.

Girl, every outing I go to has kids galore, because I am the only single person in my group of friends, and it is as awkward as it sounds :).

I hope it was as gorgeous and fun as it looks!
