I'm wearing a J.Crew Factory white shirt (gift), gold necklace ($5), vintage mint skirt ($5), and JCPenney berry heels (free).

I know this outfit isn't the greatest. I got Chase to take a few snaps of it so I can show you guys my new vintage skirt I wore to church. I got it from the same reject-Korean-clothes store where I found my red pencil skirt. I also found a hot pink one that I'll show you later maybe. Probably. Okay! Fine, yes. That store is seriously a treasure trove for pencil skirts!!! Most of 'em are minis with a few longer ones like mine mixed in. All for $5. It's on the corner of Western and 3rd. You're welcome.

  1. Cute! Pretty color. I have stumpy calves so I can't wear skirts that long (knee length or just above the knee cap is the best length for me).

  2. you still look good in that length. crazy. when my skirts fall there my big calves make me look like a weight lifter or something.

  3. "I know this outfit isn't the greatest." are you kidding me?  i LOVE this!  i love the colors and you look super tall.

  4. Simple outfit, but super cute. The skirt looks great on you. I'm not good at looking this 'casual' in my pencil skirts I always feel the need to dress them up more. The light color looks great on you though.

  5. I love the color of your skirt! The simplest outfits are always the best. :)

  7. Love the color of that pencil skirt!! And I would have NEVER thought of pairing it with those magenta shoes, you're so innovative, even with a simple outfit like this one!

  9. Now if only I were near this awesome shop. I like this outfit, cool and summery. You should be sitting in a deck chair by the ocean I think.

  10. What an adorable skirt! I must admit, I'm very envious of the stores you shop at! I live in a very small town, and so have to work harder to find things cheap. (Not that I'm complaining or anything! Ha!Ha!)

  11. Hmm, I wonder if Spencer has time to stop be there and get some stuff for me. Actually, I don't care if he has the time; he's going anyway. He owes me for that whole putting-him-through-law-school stuff. He owes me a LOT.

Also I really love these photos! The smiley one is so pretty, and the silhouette one really shows off your bangin' bod.

  34. Lovely - I do like a good pencil skirt.  The only ones I ever find in vintage/second-hand shops are tweed and definitely for winter only.  I'd love some more summery, lightweight ones.

  35. The color of your skirt is divine! Plus, when you find something like that for a great price it makes it about 1000 times better.

Ps, the concert was a blast, but unfortunately Bono didn't pull me up on stage. Boo. He didn't pull anyone else up though. Is it bad that that makes me feel a tiny bit better? :)

  39. I wish I could get my hands on a Korean reject-clothing store.  How awesome is that?  Pretty awesome, let me tell you.

I've been loving the idea of a mid or maxi length skirt with a simple t-shirt lately.  Therefore, I also am loving your outfit.  Not the greatest?  Psshaw.

  53. That skirt looks marvelous on you! :)  I usually shy away from skirts that go down to my knees because I feel like they make me look shorter or more squat.  But you look great!  I can't believe you found the skirt for only $5, Elaine!  That's amazing..  Going to search your blog for some thrifting tricks that I can put to use in Seattle. ;)

  66. Elaine, you wear this skirt beautifully.
I find myself looking for longer skirts, specially on the F21 site---- its like they are extinct.
All the models wearing these mini, mini, ultra tiny skirts make me wonder if they are saving up on fabric.
