This is what I wore last Friday. I don't remember anything else from that day. My life isn't that interesting to retell. Although I do have a fun story to share from Saturday... Chase and I went to an animal shelter to check out the cats. We've been talking about getting one for a while now so we thought we'd "shop" around and see what our options were...AKA mission: find a really superduper cute one. We saw a cross-eyed black cat sneeze boogers all over his face. He tried to clean himself off for like ten minutes. I'm pretty sure he's my cat soulmate. Update:  Okay, I had to find a picture because I just can't stop thinking about him!! You can see his cute cross-eyed little face here.

P.S. I love this loose French-braid at the top of my head. It's the perfect way to get those stinkin bangs out of my face!

I'm wearing a black cardigan with lace detail ($17), Anthropologie gold bib necklace (free with gift cards), handmade green skirt from a curtain ($2), and Target clog sandals (gift from my in-laws) with an MNG by Mango black bag (free with gift cards).

Awww the kitty sounds adorable. Lovely look as well, and I do the brad the bangs back trick ALL the time.

I seriously can't believe I never thought of it before!! I would've stopped cutting my bangs for the past year and a half if I did it back then!

this is beautiful! you may be the only person on earth who can look so slim with a sweater tucked into a skirt.
also, i want to see pictures if you get a cat! christopher and i have two, and they are the absolute best study buddies.

I love this combination of patterns/colors...it's unexpected but still classically elegant. Lovely!

You look adorable! i love the SHOES :)

I love all your french braids. I totally suck at braiding my own hair and rarely have an opportunity to braid other peoples'.

Katie said...

Your hair looks SO pretty. I'm inept at braiding my own hair. True story.

Petfinder won't show me the black kitty! I'm so sad! He sounds super cute. Somehow black kitten and boogers = cute... I may be biased, however, as I own a fuzzy black cat.

Love your skirt - as I do every time you wear it! :)

i love the contrast of patterns here - soooo pretty!!!

My husband probably won't appreciate this post as now I will be bugging him with pictures from our area - "look at this dog, it's so cuuuuute! Let's get a dog!" :)

When I first read the post heading "its not Friday Friday". I thought you were talking about the song :) "Its Friday Friday Friday" by Rebecca black . . . now that you will have the song stuck in your head. I hope you have a great week.

I can't get over how cute the pattern is on your skirt. Good luck in your quest for finding a new kitty :) I know I am a catlady at heart, but my severe allergies prevent me from acting on it. That crosseyed cat sounds way adorable.

You look really cute in this outfit! Very ... romantic, don't you think? I see some Kristine or Polly in this outfit, haha. With the mix of prints/patterns etc. Maybe? :]

I really like this cardigan with the printed skirt. Sounds like you found a keeper. Even if he is cross eyed. I love my two cats. It's kind of sad how much I love them.

Whenever you wear this skirt, I'm always awed by how it's handmade from a curtain. One day I will also make a curtain skirt! And your love for pininterest is making me want to get one myself...I love how you can categorize everything, and I think it would make outfit inspirations way easier (As of now I keep them all in my head).

When we brought our pound puppy home - though I already loved her, I wasn't in love with her. She sparked with my BF and not me. But not a day or two later, we were both inseparable and she's totally my dog now.

Maybe Chase and your cross-eyed kitty-to-be need to spend some more time together!

Myfashiontake said...

OMG, that cross-eyed cat super duper cute!!! Take him! Take him! I love cats and had several of them as pets in the past! Your new braid style is stylish, now I am seriously considering keeping my hair long.

I have been loving all your skirts for the longest time. All modest and cute, and all skirts that I would totally wear to school.... I'm just beginning that stage. If you haven't realized yet, you are my favorite blogger. I love you style.

Sort of related, but this past weekend I visited my older sister, and met one of her friends. After saying goodbye, the first comment to my sister (who also reads your blog) was, didn't she look just like Elaine??? And her reply was, "I was just thinking that."

we talk about how we would wear skirts everywhere it we had some as cute as yours.

Aaahh, he is so cute. My cat is cross-eyed too and he is the best! Also, I need to learn to french-braid like stat, because my bangs are starting to grow out and I have a feeling they'll annoy me pretty soon.
