Hang loose...in flats

This outfit goes against my rules of not tucking and belting. It was so hard to resist but not really because it's also really comfortable to let everything hang loose.

I've decided on a flats policy. It's not because of anything remotely amazing like Kyla's philosophy... My calves have just been so sore lately because I've been wearing heels a lot and I sit all day - it only makes sense. So....this is officially flats day #1. I can tell this is going to get old fast. I only have like three pairs of flats.

Hah I love how because of the time difference I'm already waking up hot the next day... okay not really. I'd rather go back to bed. Sigh...
Aanyways. I really like the silhouette of this outfit. Looks relax and comfy (:

I hope you aren't letting everything hang loose...if you know what I mean. But then again, you do live in CA, so it's prob ok to do that.

It makes me think of how people wear maxi dresses. Kind of just straight and long and lean. But I think this would have looked nicer if the sweater hit your body just a little higher up and didn't run quite as long.

I love letting things hang loose. Then I don't have to suck in.

Also, I would LOVE to wear more flats but they beat the snot out of my feet. Heels are kinder. Weird, but true. And annoying.

I LOVE this look Elaine! You look simply sweet & chic! I'm a die-hard flats girl myself.

Same with one of my friends! She always wears heels and swears they are more comfy.

Elaine Hearn said...

Is that a good thing....

Lovely outfit! As always (:

I actually had the opposite situation.. All I ever used to do was wear flats and when I started wearing heels, I was seriously like a giraffe on ice. Now I just go back and forth between heels & flats.

I like it! It's different, though it makes your legs look shorter, it does make your upper part look longer! =)
Btw, I was afraid I was being annoying when you said you would never comment if we were annoying. So- thanks soo much for reading my blog <33333 (thats supposed to equal a hug..)

You look great. I also really like your hair.
Anyway, you're bangin' on trend. Loose is the "mode". Haha. I wore something similar yesterday but then I changed my mind and opted for shorts.

Sweaters over skirts/dresses are so comfortable! It's nice to be comfy once in a while so give yourself a break and wear flats!

i'm a huge fan of flats. heels make my legs look better, but flats make my heart happier. some days it's hard to choose which body part i love more...

I love how your skirt is a little sheer at the hem and it's a great cut. I like the flow of the outfit, it looks great unbelted.

You look like a rebel all untucked. You need to get more flats, they are so inexpensive. I'm a flats addicts, and have around 20 pairs. I never wear heels though.

Being comfortable should not be against your rules :)

I've been having a similar dilemma with shoes too, heels have been hurting my knees!! I feel like an old woman, sticking to flats for some time.

Cute necklace. I only wear heels on sunday or when I go out on the town. I couldn't wear them everyday. Ouch. I do love heels though.

I have a rule on flats dont wear them unless your feet hurt ( you have that covered) or if you have a playdate( i'm a mom) Other than that I stay away, i'm to short and "round" to pull it off. I need all the help I can get.

I feel the same! Shorties NEED heels. At least I do. And you. Shorties unite.

Better me in flats standing up than me in heels flat on my backside because my ankles don't work that way... LOL

Cozy and pretty? Fabulous combination!

I usually wear flats to work and then change into heels when I get there. I can't help but love a pretty ballet flat.

Your skirt is so cute! I've been on the look-out for fuller skirts like that lately.

Thanks for linking to the flat philosophy post - I was thinking just today that my feet were killing me in heels, and they didn't used to, so it was interesting to read a similar perspective.

Yes, although some may use that against you, as an excuse to not take you seriosly. But looking young does nothing to diminsh the the respect a person is due--in fact, neither does their actual age.

At the start of my career I was kind of baby-faced and some of the older co-workers tried to treat me like a kid, even though I was out-performing them. Or maybe because I was. I grew a beard to look older (but mostly because shaving my baby-face HURT). LOL!
