I've taken a more simple approach to dressing lately. I'm not really into piling on jewelry and doing my hair every day and most of the items in my closet are simple basics anyway. I think it also helped that I've had 5 extra minutes every morning to sleep in and not much time to think about what I should be wearing that day. So worth it. I think.

I couldn't get my hair to look the same as yesterday :(:(:(:(:(:(:(. That's why it looks effortlessly disheveled...because it really is.

I'm wearing an H&M white scarf (gift from a friend), Gap dress I snipped to be a shirt ($7), secondhand BDG blue skinny jeans ($17), H&M black flats ($13), and MNG by Mango sunnies (free with gift cards) with a vintage Gucci bucket bag ($3) and a tan bag from Korea ($10).

  1. You're so cute! For some reason I haven't been able to post a comment for a while, but "you're so cute" is what I really wanted to say.

    Also, you have excellent posture.

You're an inspiration on sooooo many levels, little Elaine! :)

Basics are always good to have. I think my closet is like 90% basics--they're just so easy and fuss-less :) Basics suit you better I think (not that you don't rock all your sophisticated, chic looks)! Love the tortoise shell sunnies--I'm looking for some right now!

  17. You look great! I absolutely love the comfortable and casual looks. They last throughout the day and don't require the same preparation (which is always nice if you want to sleep in or don't have the energy). That happens to me a lot ...

  26. Your simple style still looks chic, and you can't have cute braided hair everyday, it's just not fair to the rest of use that can't get those great braids

  34. There is nothing wrong with simple. You just end up looking like your super cool because you aren't over done. Not that you're normally over done, just clearing that up. I don't leave snarky comments, I promise.

  40. I haven't quite figured out how to make a tee look chic, but you apparently have. I am, however, all for sleeping as long as possible. When I work crazy-early, I wake up 20 minutes before I'm supposed to be clocking in. For class days, maybe 25 minutes before the bus comes up the street. Haha. I back your statement of, "so worth it."

  41. Me either, but since the clementines are seedless, they win. Just out of curiousity I counted the seeds in my last tangerine--the little thing had 25. I would love that if I was planning to grow them...plenty of seeds for growing new trees. =)

  42. at first I couldn't figure out why your hair looked soo different but you look great without bangs! :)
