Um, I wore the sweater again. I'm not gross. I just like it a lot. Okay, I might be a little gross too.

During JCPenney's one day sale, I got this necklace (among a bajillion other things I'll show you later maybe). Absolutely love it! You know your jewelry is a success if it attracts a 2 year-old at church and she tells you five times how pretty it is while caressing it. It's not like I gave her candy or anything to say nice things to me.............

If you've noticed (or not, whatever), my pictures the past couple of days have been pretty uh-may-zing. No? It's 'cause we got a new lens!!!! It's the same one Kristine uses. Her husband convinced us when we met up with them a few weeks ago. It actually didn't take too much convincing. I think Chase was ready for a new toy and it actually benefited me this time so I obliged. If that isn't true love, I don't know what is.

I'm wearing a Gap gray sweater ($12 - buy it!), JCPenney orange necklace (free with gift cards - buy it!), handmade green skirt from a curtain ($2), JCPenney black tights (free with gift cards), and Target clog sandals (gift from my in-laws).

I like your necklace too!

ReplyDeleteSO cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat lens did you get?? Love all the ways you are wearing that skirt you made :)
ReplyDeletewow, this necklace really is pretty and i know i would be telling you at least 5 times how pretty it was too if i could!
ReplyDeleteand your pics do look amazing! what lens did you end up getting?
cute & little
I really like the necklace. I love little kids because they don't say things like that to be polite, they really mean it. Your pictures look awesome. I'm thinking about getting a new camera so when I need to take my own outfit photos it's easier. But, anything will be an upgrade from my 6 year old camera.

You look fantastic! That lens does make a difference, the pictures look great. I love that the 5 yr old liked your necklace =) The kiddos at school are always telling me how pretty my jewelry and nail polishes are. So CUTE!
ReplyDeleteCute necklace, totally makes its statement! Wearing the same sweater? not gross at all!

yay for new lenses!! The 50 mm 1.8 was my fave, until my camera fell and it broke. But now my new favorite is the 1.4, haha.
ReplyDeleteLove the sound of music skirt. i need to make one. and then go frolic in Switzerland. that sounds SUPER tempting. oh and i love the lens. keep snapping good pics. it totally makes such a difference to have good pictures on a blog.
ReplyDeleteA. you're not gross, you're totally normal!

You are so beautiful. :D

For all those who were wondering about the new lens, we got the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the entire look! I recognized the skirt fabric but I thought there is no way someone would make a skirt of curtain fabric- BUT HERE IT IS AND IT'S GORGEOUS! The necklace is a great statement piece. Love it, love it all!
ReplyDeleteThat lens is on my "want" list... has been for awhile. I've heard it is a good first lens to get -- I use the basic kit lens because I'm so overwhelmed. Maybe next month.
ReplyDeleteAlso... is it creepy that when I was plotting my outfits for the week and such and I realized it was raining I thought "I bet Elaine does her photos in the hallway today."
Hahahah totally just read your comment to my brother and husband. They didn't appreciate it as much as I did.
ReplyDeleteI love the necklace! It's too funny you say that about the two-year-old. My niece is two and yesterday at her brother's fourth birthday she was admiring a two-tier necklace I had on. She came over and crawled up in my lap and said "Pretty necklace Uncle Dana (yes Uncle, they think it's funny to call me that)." And I said "thank you, you like it?" She responded with "Yes, you have two! I have one?" Hahaha. I was having a hard time explaining to her they were connected so I couldn't share. She seemed disappointed when I tried to give her both to wear and she couldn't "match" me.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, that two year old has good taste! That's really cute =) Oh, and thats definitely true love, you guys and Tyson and Sydney, are the cutest couples ever!

Woo girl!! I'm glad you love the lens! I actually noticed the huge difference in your photos starting this weekend, especially the photos with you on the stairs! (If those were taken with the old lens I'll feel like an idiot.)
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit, and the necklace is great! Is the lighting better than the last time? I really like it.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! The lens really makes that necklace stand out. What I really love, though, is that feeling when you have something that you REALLY love wearing--so much that you want to wear it over and over again. So, no, I don't think you're gross. I think it's great--unless you spill dinner on it and wear it anyway--then THAT's gross.
ReplyDeleteThey weren't! New lens all the way!
ReplyDeleteThanks to my new lens yes!
ReplyDeleteWow! That new lens is amazing! I'm jealous, haha. :P
ReplyDeleteAnd that necklace is adorable! JCP has some great jewelry!
Nice outfit. Especially love the shoes. And I know what you mean about favorite clothing items. I have a fave pair of jeans that I will wear over and over and over. But they DO get washed! So they're clean :)
ReplyDeleteLove the combo of the patterns in the skirt and tights. The lens is doing lovely work!
ReplyDeleteThe 50mm is just the best affordable lens out there! A must have for a fashion blogger! Cannot wait to see your fabulously improved images! :D

The necklace is so cute!! Congrats on getting a new lens x
ReplyDeletehi.. your blog is awesome xx
ReplyDeletethe necklace is really beautiful
ReplyDeleteOoohhh congrats on the lens! I'm currently hunting for it as well, I think I'm going the route of 50mm too. But Nikon in my case.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about re-wearing and being gross. I currently have a pile of sweaters on a chair in my room, worn once or twice and waiting to be worn again before laundry day. It's so nice when my boyfriend gets home and does it all for me! :)

Lovely outfit and photos, Elaine! cute necklace :)
ReplyDeleteYou do look very pretty and pretty amazing! I am still amazed that you made that skirt from a curtain. You make me want to pull my sewing machine out of the closet and go to the fabric store.
ReplyDeleteFabulous outfit, Elaine! xo.
ReplyDeleteYou look great, so stylish!!!

Awesome necklace. I'd act like a 2 year old around it too. =)

The pictures look great! Kai is always quick to buy new toys because he thinks he can justify his purchases since it is for our photography business - glad I can benefit! :)
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I really like that sweater, I wish I had looked around more yesterday while I was shopping for flats.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so cute! Uncle Dana.. Hehe :)
ReplyDeleteGet it get it.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteNice! Even better.
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to get a new toy! ;) I know I love figuring lenses, cameras, and computers out when I first get them. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, if I saw you on the street, I'd probably act like that little girl... or worse. ;) I wish I could bribe my brother into being more willing to take blog pics of me... unfortunately, he's usually the one with purchasing power (I'm not too good at saving...). ;)
