People are so weird, pt. 2

2/24/2011

OMG, you guys.. Remember when I was telling you about the weirdos who kept staring at me here? Well, today after Chase took these pictures I realized there was a MAN in a CAR right next to us just sitting there...watching. WHY DO THESE THINGS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME.

The only thing I want to acknowledge about this outfit is the colors. Green, yellow, some berry color, and blue. I look like a sophisticated rainbow.

Tomorrow is this huge work event. The theme is Hollywood. Yeah, I don't know what that means either. It's also at a club. I have to figure out what is work and club appropriate with a Hollywood theme... ?!?!? What does that mean?!? What am I supposed to wear?!? I hate themes.

Have you entered the $25 Smashion giveaway yet? I don't know why you wouldn't... It's free shopping money!!!! Don't tell me you're one of those weirdos who don't wear other people's unwanted clothes... Wow, now nobody is going to enter the giveaway. Way to go, stupid.

I can't wait to see what you wore to work for your Hollywood theme day. Please post it.

This is a great outfit. You are always so chic! I'd look like a mess trying to emulate some of the great things you do! :P

I really love the clothes that you wear from love stitch. Where can I find some of my own?

Thanks!

themes are the worst. My best friend was our social chair for my sorority when I was in college, and all sorority parties have themes. Finally I convinced her to have a party with the theme "Saturday night" so we could just wear regular clothes. It was awesome.

I love themes! Do you have any cocktail dresses? You could always put a blazer, shrug or cardi over a pretty cocktail dress and add some glam accessories. I can't wait to see/read about what you end up wearing!

It's cuz your so hawt. Love the sophisticated rainbow.

Being Mormon and wearing clubby things for work parties is tough. I'd wear a black dress, high heels, and gaudy jewelry. That sounds like Hollywood right?

How cute! i love how jeans look on you + the necklaces. Your style is so cute :)

Lindsey P. said...

Hollywood makes me think of dressing like a stripper. But you could maybe do "old" Hollywood and get glammed up instead of getting as naked as possible. Maybe some bright lipstick, an updo and a glamorous dress?
Whatever you come up with, I know it'll be great! :)

wolflikeshadow said...

I don't think you look like a rainbow! All the colors work together really well. I love the shape of your jacket!

I seriously LOVE that bag. I did enter the giveaway & I'm sooo excited. I love Smashion!!!

I love the mix of colors! The Berry heels are the prettiest pop of color and actually go really well with the green!

i really like this coat.. the cut and color! (i'm always too embarrassed to take pictures where people can see me. and your stories keep reaffirming that fear)

Kileen said...

all the colors here are amazing! the green cardigan looks great on you and those jeans fit you perfectly! and good luck with the hollywood theme party! maybe just throw on some glam accessories to your normal workday outfit and call it hollywood? lol.

cute and little

Elaine Hearn said...

Hahahah, sorry, I'm not trying to! Usually, people mind their own business but there are the weirdos who have no inhibition.

Mallorina1 said...

ahhhh what a wooonderful jacket. nice array of colllaaahs. (that was said without the r).

Louise said...

Okay, favorite outfit of February! I wish you took a picture of the creepy man, though. That would have been awesome.

Jessica said...

Just wear some dark jeans, some black and accessorize like crazy and you'll be fine. Have fun at the party.

Elaine Hearn said...

Yeah, I was thinking all black. I don't want to stand out when everyone's drunk...

tina matilde said...

first of all, i love the outfit.

secondly, you live in la and someone was taking solo pictures of you, so maybe they thought you were an up and coming celeb or someone trying to be one. sad but true...

Lyddiegal said...

it's not just you, we are all always bothered by creepers.
but hey, you look adorable, i love the mix of colors.

PetiteLittleGirl said...

I hate when people staring at me while I am taking pictures. If you have any tips on how to get comfortable taking pics in a public place, I'd would to hear. Cute outfit as always, Elaine :)

Katejeffries said...

Hmmmmmm..... Hollywood theme..... Some pasties and a mini skirt. And don't forget to forget your panties! (Hollywood is so super gross.) I would wear some skinny jeans with some killer heels. Anything on top would look fabulous. And, yes, I was kidding--wear underwear!!!

Vanessa said...

When I think of Hollywood nothing work appropriate comes to mind. I wonder if the guy was just waiting to get out when you were done. But, he was probably just being a creeper.

Sarai said...

Hahaha I think this is really funny, because my 18th birthday party is tomorrow and the theme is old hollywood :)
I've got a fabulous purple satin dress, and I'm doing classy curls and pearls, and gloves....but that's definitely not the look they're going for what with it being a work party, and at a club ;)

Elaine Hearn said...

Now THAT'S cool and doable. A Hollywood theme at a club with your co-workers? Awkward :( ...especially when you're a newb.

Elaine Hearn said...

Also, happy birthday :)

Anna said...

i love this combo elaine! and also, that jacket is rad.

hollywood theme=sequins. i know you have something!

toxic said...

people always look because you are fabulous. ^^

eclecticflair said...

Hmm, you can't go wrong with a black pencil skirt, just dress it up and that way it's still work and party appropriate! High heels, a feminine blouse and great accessories should do it! Have fun!

Gazel said...

Ahh. So good. :)
Love your posts, as usual.

Nikki said...

Hollywood: sequin maurices blazer, black top, black skirt, your purple JC Penney heels, DONE. Wavy hair?

I'll go back to creeping now... or is it lurking? Whichever one is slightly less creepy is what I am doing. Also, I <3 your sophisticated rainbow.

Elaine Hearn said...

Actually, you read my mind... I was thinking of my sequin blazer, J Brand jeans, and JCPenney red bow heels. Not sure what shirt yet!!!!! a;kjadkfja;dkf!!!

Hollywood glam makes me think of black and pearls or something -- a little bit glam and a little bit edgy. And black is always so universally classy. Go classy Hollywood... not Lohan Hollywood. Sequins help too.

Gabriella said...

Cute outfit, I like the way you mixed the colors! :) I hate when people awkwardly stare at me too, they need to get a life, lol! :)

I'm up with my crazzzy 5 month old and am cracking up. Thanks so much for entertaining me (us).

I hate theme parties too....thanks for saying what everyone else is thinking.

Love this.

This is exactly why most of my outfit pictures are done in the comfort of my garden. I have done the odd location outfit post but found the same even at the beach. People are just really weird.

Love your outfit green is a great colour on you xoxo

Gertrude said...

Love the colour combinations. Work-club wear with a hollywood theme is a difficult one, I would probably go with a work-appropriate length skirt, cute blouse and high heels x

Jasna said...

That is super weird! You look stunning as always! xx

I have themes too! Stick with the sophisticated rainbow :)

I'm not sure. I got the shirt at Buffalo Exchange.

Elaine Hearn said...

It's not Hollywood theme... It's Elaine theme.

sweet pea said...

Such a cute casual outfit. It looks so bright and green there. Alls I have here is 8inches of snow. blah. . . Hope the creepers go away :)

Sara said...

Well I hope dressing "Hollywood" doesn't mean dressing like all the homeless people who live there! Hollywood is like LA's most disappointing tourist attraction, what a dump. hahaha. Love the green coat, however, you should break it out more often! :)

Mirandaleebond said...

Great color combos.

Silver Strands said...

So cute ... that's probably the problem: cute clothes, cute girl, photographer - they've got to be thinking "who is the famous person? i don't know - but i'll sit here and stare till i figure it out"

Jasmine, Transient Withdrawal said...

I think you should wear your sequined blazer to the Hollywood theme :) You look great even with that man creepily staring at you! That blouse is so friggin versatiles! I must find one just like it somewhere!

Haylie Jo Gregory said...

Girl.. you know they stare because you are BEAUTIFUL!
And as for theme parties at a club... three words... Bring. It. ON! Haha!!!

kelsey williams said...

I adore this outfit. You are so cute and little! Ha. And sophisticated rainbow is spot on. Great description.

Rachael said...

Love the outfit! And the spots of color!
That is weird to have some random guy watching you. Good thing you had your husband nearby in case. He was nearby right? Maybe next time before a photo op, you take a scan of people around you, in case of anybody else like that.

Emma at Daily Clothes Fix said...

Where do you take your shots? You seem to attract strange people. Hope the next shoot is better. Love the berry red with the racing green and the hint of yellow. Very nice.

Beth said...

Haha I love your sophisticated rainbow comment - you always crack me up! And you need to tell stalker man to get lost!

Finley said...

Are you taking your pics next to Creepo's Anonymous? Maybe you should avoid their meetings.

BTW - I used your multi-strand necklace idea! :) Love it - wore it here ! Have a good weekend!

Sylvia Bush said...

hahaha you ARE a sophisticated rainbow, a very stylish one! I'd say for this hollywood themed party, you can't go wrong with and LBD and some red lips! super glam and old hollywood. So glad I found your blog!

xo
i wander, i wonder

Elaine Hearn said...

I know, seriously.. I've learned my lesson. I'm usually in a rush so I don't bother to scan but now I will! Creepy!!!

Laura said...

Love that green coat! As for Hollywood club theme...I would look to Lauren Conrad for inspiration.

annie said...

Very sophisticated rainbow :) Maybe the guy was just waiting for someone and thought watching you would be entertaining?

It would be pretty stalkerish if he just drove off once you noticed him...

Pbmflores said...

love all that colors together!

Stef said...

Ugh. Work dos. I've got a not at all optional 70s evening coming up - costumes are "strongly encouraged" So I guess it is wigs, jump suits and super minis instead of ties and black trousers..

Hope your Hollywood evening turns out to be fun :)
You are rocking sophisticated colourful!
