One of those days

So I had a whole different outfit planned - like a skirt and everything - but settled on a simple top and jeans...specifically, the predictable outfit I mentioned here. I like it. It's me. I like simple and classic looks that aren't complicated. But sometimes I feel like I have to do better than that as a fashion blogger, which is fine because it gets me to think outside the box. And then sometimes I don't care. Today was one of those days.

If you noticed (or not, whatever), I joined the super secret Disqus club. Not sure if I like it yet. It'll be better to answer questions. Only because people don't know where to find my email address. It's okay - it filtered out the weirdos who couldn't find the ENVELOPE. (I did it on purpose.) (I didn't.) (Yes, I did.)

Also, that's not my butt. By butt I mean the cigarette butt that's in every shot. I'm not suicidal.

Got a shopping itch? You can win $25 to spend at Smashion.com! What is Smashion besides a fun spin on the words smashing and fashion?? It's an online consignment store where you can buy and sell secondhand clothes. Just tell yourself you're helping the earth until your wallet believes it.

I'm wearing a Collection B jacket ($55), Forever 21 top (gift from Chaser-babe - buy it!), J Brand jeans ($158 - buy it!), and JCPenney heels (free with gift cards).

Your shoes... oh.my.goodness... I die. And we all have "those days," but you still come out on top every time, Elaine. You're quite amazing.

Thanks for not being suicidal. I like you too much. And not only do cigarettes kill, but they flippin' stink.

I know. I'm just holding out until Blogger implements that feature... I really hope they do. I just don't like how disqus sometimes doens't load. So many disqus blogs I've visited, I've had to refresh the page a bunch of times just to get the comment box to work.

It's those fantastic pink shoes that really make the outfit (and of course the person wearing it . . . ;)

I love the monochrome look mixed with the pink shoes. Your hair looks so lovely too.

I like the idea of disqus but don't feel ready to eliminate all previous comments which I heard it does. Perhaps when I am a big time blogger like you, I'll be ready. PS: nice butt.

Ok, not funny.

HAHAHA; one of the most hilarious blogs I read. I think our sarcasm would like each other. lol

This is my kind of look. Which is why I don't consider myself a fashion blogger who takes daily pictures of her outfits. They would all involve skinny pants/jeans, a striped top and blazer/jacket. It's really inspiring. ;)

I feel the same way sometimes. I'm not some big fashion blogger like you but I feel like I should do a little more. Which is good because by trying new things I have got some pretty sweet outfits. On a random note I HATE when people throw their butts. When I lived in a big apartment complex you would get random things on your balcony all the time.

Cool collection B jacket! I like the shirt too, but I saw a Collection B jacket at Marshalls, I liked it a lot, but it was missing a belt. The end. Btw I didn't get the Disqus thing, I mean I get the commenting thing, but I don't understand the Envelope email thing. If you mean that when you reply, I would get an email, I liked that because when people reply on the post itself, I almost never see it.

This outfit is simple and beautiful. I know what you mean about feeling the need to wear complicated outfits. I don't even mean for me to post online (though I do post some). I just feel an intrinsic let down when I wear something too simply, even if it's great. It's silly though! :)

And about those creepy guys from the last post: I've had 2 staring at me just the other day! I just didn't like it and what was supposed to be a fun photo session turned into a nightmare! Well, not quite..but almost! I was soo annoyed!

I'm so glad you made the Disqus switch. I love it and it's super easy to read and reply. I love that you took the classic outfit and added berry heels. It's exponentially more exciting than, say, flats.

"But sometimes I feel like I have to do better than that as a fashion blogger, which is fine because it gets me to think outside the box. And then sometimes I don't care. Today was one of those days."

Whatever. I love this look! Lately I've been really into the 1960's French new wave look. Skinny jeans. Striped shirt. And a too hip attitude. Plus, I've been pondering over getting myself a leather jacket which is so not me, which is part of the reasons why I think I should invest in one.

Elaine Hearn said...

You totally should! When I first saw this jacket, I knew it wasn't me but I'm so glad I got it. I've worn it so many times it should be illegal.

Elaine Hearn said...

It's not bad. If Blogger had a replying to comments feature, I'd switch back I think.

I like the rough and tough look of the top half and the feminine silhouette of the bottom half. Fun.

I kinda like Disqus precisely because you can respond to individual comments. I also like the "like" feature for the comments.

Shandi Grimsley said...

I love this outfit and I'm glad you put it up! It's still fashionable (especially with those shoes!!) but someone who doesn't consider themselves fashionable would still be able to pull it off comfortably.
