You guys! I finally found a brown belt for my pants yesterday at Penney's when we went shopping for Chase's birthday but then I ended up getting some stuff too! I love birthdays!

This cardigan was one of 'em. I am loving this olive green color! I hope it's in for spring and summer. If not, I'll probably still wear it. I got it without doing my three-outfits rule. OMGz! I'm so bad. I really didn't know what to wear it with today and ended up wearing it with my green IKEA curtain skirt. I don't like the idea of pairing really similar colors together because then that's all I'll think of wearing it with. Quick! Give me two more outfits with this cardigan so I can justify its purchase!

Doesn't the birthday boy look great in his new suit? He finally caved and let me buy him clothes that he picked out. (Isn't that usually the best way to do it?) The pants were a little too long for him so I hemmed them all by myself! Just don't look too closely. Then you'd see what an amazing hemmer I am. Oh, and he said thank you for all the birthday wishes!!! He's never felt so loved...besides by me.

I'm wearing a green cardigan from some Korean clothing store ($14), JCPenney shirt (free with gift cards), gold necklace (gift from my mom) with Spanish pendant ($30), JCPenney belt (free with gift cards), handmade skirt from a curtain with this tutorial ($2), and Target clogs (gift from my in-laws) with a thrifted purse ($4).

you did not make that skirt yourself! you are so crazy talented, it is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteJeans and heels and a flower necklace! Aaaaand...unbuttoned over a shift dress with a pretty belt! I'm loving the way you tie this belt, so cute!
ReplyDeleteChelsea
Who cares if the color of the cardigan is in; cardigans are always in! You can wear it over jeans and the green horse tee, or tucked into that black skirt you wore on SuperSunday!
ReplyDeletei know, stalker much? lol
I love your man's tie! Love the mixed patterns you wore also! seems like a nice bday weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit, Elaine :) You look adorable as always. Happy Birthday to Chase and Happy V-Day to both of you.
ReplyDeleteToo easy! Jeans, white skirt, navy maxi dress, navy skirt, anthro pants, zara pants, layered over chambray shirt w/ sleeves rolled, striped shirt, camel belt, printed scarf...ok, you get it. I'm not a stalker - just a stylist and it's my job to remember what's in people's closets! ;) Love the color of this cardi.

That cardi would look great with any neutral bottoms: grey, brown, black, or jeans! And maybe a sailor-y striped shirt? I'm pretty sure I've seen you wearing one before. I think it'll be very versatile :)
ReplyDeleteHe looks snazzy in his suit.
ReplyDelete3 outfits
1. With your brown cargo pants, target clogs, and love stitch white blouse.
2. With your Shade Clothing skirt, white button up, and red bow heels.
3. With your plaid dress, and target clogs.
See I'm taking you all literally and stuff.

ReplyDeletelove this outfit, you look beautiful Elaine! And the cardi is so versatile - you could wear it with jeans and that horse shirt and heels, or pair it with something navy blue. I bet that white tee with the light pink frills you haven't worn in a while would look fab with it, too! And the black skirt :)

ReplyDeleteWoW! This skirt was made out of a curtain?!?! AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteYou guys look so happy and you both look amazing! Just wear any outfit and put the jacket over it everyday until you surprise yourself with a great outfit you would have never thought of!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my 500 Days of Summer post!
You two are adorable, and olive green looks good on you!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty spring outfit!
ReplyDeleteThat cardigan was MADE for that skirt...or maybe the other way around and your were just acting out a premonition of the sweater's existence? Anyway, I think that olive green and black always go well together or olive green and pink...scratch that, HOT pink or magenta.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love wearing olive with pale pink, navy, or cream. But if you have a wild hair, try it with a dark fuschia or dark purple, or eggplant! Or mustard! Olive is one of those colors that can be played like a neutral.
ReplyDeleteYou look like the perfect couple. Chase looks wonderful and I love your new cardigan. You could wear it so many ways. Personally, I love khaki with navy and with red. Is that OK for two new looks?
ReplyDeleteyou always make it look so freakin' cool ...
ReplyDeleteI would never know how to mix all this to look so cool :)

ReplyDeleteI need more browny-olives in my wardrobe to combat the crazy red hair!
That skirt is gorgeous. I scrolled down to see where you bought it but to my SHOCK you didn't buy it anywhere. You've inspired me to actually try my hand at making one myself!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
That cardi would look great with anything navy or belted over a brighter dress to tone it down. Great purchase!

I would love to wear a belt the way you do, care to describe it?
Also, it looks like you have looped the belt in a way that might damage the belt, and I hope I am wrong.
