But it's Monday

Monday, February 28, 2011
I totally have the case of the Monday blues right now...might be those three bowls of Reese's Puffs I had for dinner. And my right eyelid has been droopy all day. You can't really tell in these pictures because I am looking away from the camera. (Perhaps on purpose. You'll never know.) The funny thing is Chase didn't even notice it when I got home. That's how small and beady my Asian eyes are. Just kidding. It's only when I smile ...and he makes me smile...a lot.

Okay, I'm too tired to write, pretend to be funny, and/or talk about my day because all I do is sit in front of a computer and drink Coke Zero...because Diet Coke is gross. Pepsi is worse. And sometimes I'll get hot chocolate if I'm feeling wild. And then I'll do some push ups in my head to make up for it. I don't think it's working.

Okay, I'm really going now. I just like having something in between all my pictures. So... blahblahblahfillspace.

I'm wearing a Forever 21 cardigan (gift from my hubberz - buy it!), Gap cami underneath ($7), Old Navy belt ($10 - buy it!), skirt from Korea ($10), JCPenney tights (free with gift cards), and Target clogs (gift from my in-laws).

  2. I love this outfit! The skirt is my favorite part. I wish it wasn’t from Korea, because I really want to buy it! :) I am a new reader of your blog and I absolutely love it. You are so cute and your outfits look great everyday!

  4. Hi Elaine, i dont really want to drag this one out and iam not attacking you or trying to be mean or unreasonable. It may be your personal blog but the public if not the whole world is viewing it.
I do understand all your points about pleasing everyone.

  5. Aww, thank you!! I think it's because I take my pictures in the morning before I look disheveled and my makeup has melted off.

  7. Oh I really love this outfit! The dark colors look so sophisticated and really dress up the outfit. I would totally wear this to work!

  8. Generalisation or not, I feel I should be able to say what I want on my blog. I don't feel like just because it's going to offend a few people that I should always try to not step on other people's toes because when I don't even try, I'm going to offend someone and it's just not worth it to me to worry about it. I don't even think I had to explain myself. It's my personal fashion blog therefore my personal thoughts... Do I really need to censor it so I can please like five people? And do I really need to explain myself to a few strangers? No, I don't think so.

  9. Whenever I visit your blog I always leave wishing I'd put more thought into my outfits. You always just look so dang cute. Like seriously, do you really look this awesome everyday?
And also, that skirt needs to not be from Korea. Because I absolutely adore it and am unfortunately not going to Korea anytime soon.. boo.

  10. Okay, that's awesome. Definitely going to give Coke Zero a try now. :)

  11. Hi Elaine, i agree with your comment about not being able to please everyone, that`s not possible, however you can refrain from generalising. Just because you dont go to a club it doesnt stop someone from calling you a skank, and if someone implied that, iam sure it would upset you.

  12. I love the tights and the shoes! If you have an iTouch, Nike Training Club is probably the best app I've ever downloaded. It's a personal trainer on your iPod, with timed exercises and videos showing you how to do each exercise--so much better than going to the gym.

  16. I'm with you on the diet coke. Nasty. Not a huge fan of coke zero. If I'm going to do it, I'm doing it right. Coke Classic all the way. Not a fan of Pepsi either.

    ps you always look great!

  17. Because I can't give up Coke Zero. It's the only thing I drink that has caffeine in it. I also like ginger ale, cranberry juice in moderation, and I just started drinking milk by itself which is a huge achievement for me.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ha! This post is hilarious. I also alternate between diet coke and hot chocolate at my desk job. I'm going to have to give mental pushups a try; you're a genius! Loving today's look! :) Oh, and you don't have to answer this if you don't want to (duh, it's your blog) but I know some Mormons (Like Sydney at The Daybook) don't drink caffeine but you do. Why the difference? Just curious!

  19. Every time you wear that skirt I check to see where it's from, if though one day the answer will change from Korea, to a local store that I can go and buy it. It's simply lovely and you style it so well :) Feel better!

  46. "Why would I? I'm married. I'm a Mormon. I don't drink alcohol. I don't dance (only in front of my mirror). ...and I'm not a skank" i really love your blog, it`s my favourite fashion blog but i was disappointed to read this comment from last week. Not all people who go to clubs are skanks . . . . .

  60. Really love this look...all the way down to the fishnet hosiery! Which makes me have to ask...

Are they black fishnet? And your clogs are the chocolate brown color, right? After trying repeatedly to find these at any of my local Targets (within a 30 mile or more radius), I only was able to locate the light tan. Found them online (FINALLY) and still haven't even had a chance to wear them, because I have this thing about hoseiry/tights and open toes... But I MIGHT be okay with fishnets...

So, my question is--black fishnets w/ brown clogs is OK!? Because I like the way they look in your pics. This may be a "rule breaking Monday thing" for me...
