Yesterday Chase and I went to the Fashion District of L.A. We loved it. It reminded us of the street markets in Hong Kong, Korea, and the Philippines but filled with Mexicans.

We didn't buy any clothes. Just food. Always. The whole place sold cheap overpriced goods...like the malls aren't stocked full of that already. But it's at least three times more fun in a dirty alley with food carts.

I'm wearing a secondhand scarf ($3), Gap dress I snipped to be a shirt ($7), J Brand jeans ($158), Tsubo boots ($190), and a vintage Gucci bag ($3).

I told you I looked like this when I eat...especially if it's a spirally potato on a stick with hot sauce, ketchup, and a fresh (I think) squeezed lemon!

So what did you do over the weekend?

but what i want to know is... what are you eating? :)
Ahhh I miss Santee Alley and having the option to buy faux anything. Most importantly I miss bacon wrapped dogs that are sold on every street corner in that part of town. Hope you guys had fun!
I love going to the LA Fashion District. There is a great place in Santee Alley that sales jewelry for $1.
This weekend I planned out the clothes I am going to wear in the 30 for 30 I am doing. I went to dinner with the hubs on Saturday night and then the movies, and today I did a little sewing.

These pictures are great! I love that bag, I found a vintage Gucci bag this weekend, but I didn't love it even though the price was right.

With the amount of scarves I buy, $3 is envious. Very cute outfit.
I went shoe shopping! I ended up buying 2 impractical shoes that I really like. I'll probably wear them 2-3 times a year. Haha!
Just Better Together

Ooo, looks like fun. I used to love street markets when I was in Hong Kong. The potato on a stick look really nice.
i love eating food in outdoor markets! those potatoes look so good!
Looks like one of those bazars I've seen in Turkey! But I love strolling through places like this.
Studied for my exam that I have to write in two hours. Yea, my weekends are fun-filled :P
That potato looks delish and what a fun way to spend the afternoon.
We celebrated the hubby's pre-bday yesterday by being lazy and eating A LOT.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!

This looks like so much fun. But really. Anything with outdoor food and clothes? Amazing.

oh elaine isnt that a fun place? getting fabric in downtown l.a. with my mom is one of my fondest childhood memories
ummmm...those swirly potatoes on a stick are one of my FAVE things at the Alley! I always have to get one. I actually read about them a couple of years ago as being really big in Seoul, like in MyungDong and other street shopping places. Koreans are so smart. ;)
I'm like you...I actually love the Alley because it reminds me of street markets in Asia.
My other fave is the bacon wrapped hot dogs by this one woman who is always parked in front of the Cebu store. She makes them the best...you should try it next time! :)
