You guys, I'm not a suit person...like I have ZERO suits. So I have to make do for my jobs that have never required me to wear a suit. But once in a year is fun. Maybe not...because I'm selling this blazer! I just haven't worn it in a while but now that I know I can wear it as a fake suit, I might keep it...unless someone grabs it first...here.

I had a hard time figuring out what to wear this morning. I went to bed at 9pm (huzzah!) with my laptop open (I'm lame). But this morning I thought, "If you don't know what to wear, wear black and white." I know. My subconscious is so smart. Or maybe it's because I've been listening to a lot of MJ lately.

I don't really like having my hair slicked back. I look so...Asian...like a ninja. I assure you I am not.

These earrings are so ridiculous and heavy but I love them. I just need to hold my ears up every few minutes. But it's so worth it because I always look hot when I'm wearing them.

I'm wearing a thrifted blazer ($3), DownEast Basics shirt (gift from my mother-in-law), JCPenney earrings (free with gift cards), J Brand jeans ($158), JCPenney heels (free with gift cards), and JCPenney bag (free with gift cards).

Shop: rhinestone earrings
Love the heels! A great pop of color with all the black and white...
ReplyDeleteLOL your posts are so funny :P I hear you on the slicked back hair look - I have a HUGE forehead so I don't really like accentuating this.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are great - I need more coloured shoes.
Those are beautiful earrings! the weight is why I switched to studs and I never take them off, well hardly ever.
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together is having a giveaway!
those heels are awesome! the perfect pop of fun for a serious outfit otherwise. :)
ReplyDeletecute and little

I love this outfit! Especially the earrings (even if they are heavy). Those shoes really pop against all of the black and white!
ReplyDeleteBeyond classy. This is gorgeous Elaine. I love the earrings (and I don't even wear earrings!) and that blazer is fantastic on you, love the pop of color with the heels too. And I like your hair pulled back- you look so polished haha.
ReplyDeleteDang, I keep seeing those black jeans and drooling! I wish I knew where to find a similar pair for less!
ReplyDeleteI just bought those exact same heels...I was so excited to find them because I had been looking for ones similar to yours...but then I found the exact ones...on clearance!
ReplyDeleteSo many levels of chic, I just can't stand it. I might have to copy something like this tomorrow because I love it so much. It looks very French to me, and lately, I want to look French. Like, I may have to start carrying a baguette under my arm.
ReplyDeleteOmgosh your fake suit is stunning! Haha I totally need to keep your outfit in mind if I ever need a fake suit in the future :) Haha love the earrings and the pop of purple from your shoes as well!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I think your hair looks awesome slicked back. And it would be awesome if you were a ninja . . .
ReplyDeleteomg i love this look on you! it's simple but soo chic, you look really professional but stylish too, not boring like some people look in suits. and the earrings look good with your hair pulled back - i wish i could wear my hair straight back like that but i feel like i look bald or something when i try to :P

haha, this post made me laugh. I love your hair pulled back, especially with this outfit...you look very sleek! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of color that the heels add - this is such a nice hip/sleek take on the business suit!

you are one sexy ninja!!! ♥
ReplyDeleteamazing!
ReplyDeleteYou look great in the jacket...seems like a nice item to have in the back of your closet.
ReplyDeleteA former boss of mine had stretched out ear lobes--it was sooooo gross. But she wasn't very nice. Perhaps if she'd been a better person I would think "Oh, it wasn;t so bad." =)
I think you look great! Simple black and white with the pop of color on the heels, and those earrings are soo cute! They really polish it up. I think another color would be nice too... hmm how about a lime green thin belt? =P
ReplyDeleteBellesme
like a ninja...i laughed pretty hard at that. your earrings are sweet, heavy or no.

I love the fake suit. I've had a real suit for 12 years and never wear it. Reason: real suits are boring. Fake suits are fun.
ReplyDeleteI actually LOVE your hair like that!! You look so chic and sophisticated and those heels are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteMy go-to colors always seem to involve black. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a color rut and other times I know it's because I'm a minimalist at heart. I've got some posts with all black and just a splash of color also. Sigh. I don't think I could ever get tired of something so simple yet classic.
ReplyDeleteWonderful outfit. I'm super digging it.

I think this is one of my favorite outfits. I love simple black/white outfits with pops of color! You look fantastic!
ReplyDeletei love this! i always want to wear suits but can never figure it out...
ReplyDeleteI love the color added by the purple shoes. I have three suits, but I never wear any of them.
ReplyDeleteTWINSIES!!
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of color with the heels! If this were a "fake" suit, it's a very modern cut with the skinny pants. I like it. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look like a modern businesswoman. Chic and classic all at once.
You look very pretty in these pictures.
ReplyDeleteI also don't like slicked back hair on myself...but it looks beautiful on you!
You do a suit proud - and have modernized it brilliantly. I feel you though...I'm totally ixnay on the suit factor. You look great - and those shoes really sass it up! btw-i dream of being a ninja. for reals.

i like this style! and i love the shoes :)
ReplyDeleteI... LOVE this take on the suit. When I had to do fancy business presentations in college, I always hated wearing stupid conventional suits. BORING. But this is very chic and modern and I love it.
ReplyDeleteKristine. Or Polly.
I get the slicked back thing. I'm half Asian and HATE wearing my hair up. I have such a short forehead that it just looks weird. That being said, I think YOU look super chic with your hair up. ::shrug:: Perhaps we are too hard on ourselves.
ReplyDeleteHehe, lovely title! :D
ReplyDeleteGorgeous look as always, my dear!

ReplyDeleteLove the pseudo-suit with the bright purple pump! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning! Not like a ninja! This is much better than a suit. I love how you added those purple shoes.

I used to have these GREAT satin high-waisted suit trousers... Well they were my mother's but we basically share closets, and she almost never wore it and I LOVED those trousers. Then she gave them to a friend of hers who she thought would like them. Oh, sure mom, let's give away the coolest trousers we'll probably every own...
ReplyDeleteYour fake suit looks awesome though :)
Keep it! Really, keep it. It looks amazing on you and I love that overall look - young and chic and still smart.
ReplyDeleteOo I really love the 'fake suit' look, it looks great and has a casual element which a suit doesn't have!
ReplyDeleteL x
Love the outfit! Pity the blazer is not my size cause I would have snatched it away from you :)
