Easy Peasy Necklace Holders

I've seen a lot of those picture frame necklace holders circulating the interweb but didn't like the idea of the bottoms of my necklaces still cluttering my vanity. I saw this idea on Apartment Therapy a while ago and loved it! ..especially since we had a lot of Filipino and Hong Kong coins from our trip last summer! I nailed 1" nails at an angle and then glued the coins on the bed. Easy peasy.

You'll need...
  • a hammer
  • nails
  • foreign coins
  • super/hot glue
And then it should like kind of like this but better.

How do you organize your necklaces?

Great idea! Thanks for sharing. I made my necklace holder with four fabric covered squares of corkboard so I could put them on my closet wall. It works pretty well when I remember to hang them up!

I love that yellow necklace! Where did you get it?
BTW, my necklaces are all in my jewelry box collecting dust! Guess I should get them out!

A Mormon Mommy, it is my handmade necklace. You can see the outfits I've worn it with here.

wow that is such a great idea! I have tons of foreign coins so I might try something like this so I can stop hanging my long necklace (yeah, just the one - note to self: obtain more necklaces) on my towel hook or a random hanger.

I have a long rectangular mirror with a black frame that has five hooks on the bottom. It was probably meant for coats and hats, but necklaces are so much more decorative anyway!

I keep mine in a gallon sized Ziploc baggie; I wish I were kidding. Your method is way classier.

cute idea! i have 2 big hooks from target that i hang all my necklaces on.

I have a couple coat hooks on my wall, and I also have a hanging jewelry holder in my closet for overflow, not that it's anywhere near full.

I've got a picture frame with a screen over it to hold my earrings and nails pounded into the frame itself to hold some necklaces, it's pretty but I need something more heavy duty like this for my chunkier necklaces - they tend to tilt the frame.

This layout is quite artistic.
I keep mine is a drawer. I bought one of those plastic craft boxes with small compartments where people keep their buttons and screws and such and have organized them there....
It works only when they are in perfect order - but they are usually really messy.

Love the foreign coins covering the nails! My necklaces are so disorganized that I am constantly untangling them to wear one. This I gotta do.

i really like this idea. i checked out the apartment therapy post and it would be a very pretty addition to a room or walk in closet.

I do love that idea :) I organize mine on a cool little tree branch necklace holder from UO!

Super Cute, Good Job!

I had the hubby hang glass knobs on the wall. A fun way to display and be organized at the same time.

Cute! The coins are a nice touch. I keep mine in one of those drawer divider things. Is there a name for it? I can't think of it right now :)

I use a bulletin board, with tons of thumbtacks in it! i works very well! I even put pictures behind it to make it look cuter!

Okay, so I just found your blog! I love that you do fashion and are okay with being Mormon. You will be shared with my sil's!! Oh and I keep my necklaces on a door hanger.

My necklaces are all hung on nails, and I have been trying to think of how to make them cuter. You could not have better timing! Such a cute idea!

I do the same thing but I just use push-tacks. I could probably find more decorative pins or do what you did, but this was my least-destructive method and I went with it.

I have a hanger from Ikea

This is it I couldn't get the actual pic up but it is awesome for storing and displaying jewellery.

HEY! This is a cool idea. Hot gluing coins :)

One time I bought a case of soda (this is back when I drank soda) and I found one of those hanging things that they use to hand little knick-knacks along the isle shoved into my box. I was thinking, what in the world an I going to do with this? I ended up handing it against my mirror and that's where I place all my necklaces.

Tackle Boxes! They are cheap and see through and you can adjust the compartments to lay necklaces flat or put them into smaller compartments. Then the smaller ones are good to travel with!

I found some small 3M hooks at Lowe's and put them on the mirror on my dresser. That way I can try them on and check my look at the same time :)

I am the most unorganized, messy person with everything EXCEPT my jewelry lol. In fact, my jewelry storage is slightly insane, but it warms my heart every morning as it greets me. And thankfully, its a whole lot prettier than my scary no makeup face in the morning :)

I use an expandable coat/hat/mug rack like this: http://bit.ly/gVvScL

It works great except I have 5-6 necklaces on each hook so not quite as easy to access all of them as I would like.

That's a super cute idea!

I really like this idea but I'm nervous to glue my Peruvian money. But at the same time it's just sitting in a box, and it would be awesome to display it.

At the moment all my necklaces are on my necklace board which is a cork board with pins stuck in it in two rows. I have been wanting to do similar to what you have done here for a while now, it would be much more sturdy.

Until recently, my necklaces hung on everything... mirrors, pictureframes, chairs, lamps... I didn't know what to do with them! But about two weeks ago I bought a piece of wall decor that is like... metal wire bent into the shape of the body of a mannequin, with the wire curling into spirals on the inside, and I hung my necklaces on the spirals :)

It looks vintage and oh-so-pretty :)

The coins look great, what a clever idea! I have my necklaces (what few I have) occupying space and storage on every available knob and door handle at the moment. I want to line them up on pretty door knobs drilled into the wall ala Emily from C&C.

Happy Friday Elaine!

super cute idea! i am obsessed with fun jewelry holders, since my current state of jewelry is having it scattered all over my apt (boo). love the colors of your necklaces, too :)

I have 2 necklace peg things from this container store like this:

http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10028400&N=&Ntt=necklace

They are very practical but, they don't even come close in cuteness to your nails with coins! Maybe I can glue some coins to the pegs...

This is great. I have mine on a corkboard inside the door to my shoe cupboard.

Similar idea! I have a wall rack that's meant for hanging bathrobes and clothes, but I hang my necklaces on it!

I put little suction cap hooks on my mirror. Tada.
