OMGZ!!1 An outfit post on a Saturday?!? Don't get too excited. It'll probably be the first and last one of this year. There's a reason I call it naked Saturday.

It's because I went to Summer's baby shower. Summer Bellessa is the editor of ELIZA magazine. We've emailed and Twittered back and forth but this was the first time we met in person. I love the internetz. I also met Brooke White. She was on American Idol. I don't watch it so that was kind of embarrassing to admit to her. They are also the women behind The Girls with Glasses Show. So, yeah. I was totally starstruck meeting them!!! Follow Summer and Brooke on Twitter and we can all be BFFs 4eva.
I had a hard time figuring out what to wear. I was still going through fat-legs syndrome so I wore boyfriend jeans. Add a crisp white button-up and some bold earrings and you've got yourself a winner, I thought. Too bad it was 80degrees today and I was sweating! My life can get so difficult sometimes.
I'm wearing a Gap shirt ($12), JCPenney earrings (free with gift cards), Aeropostale jeans ($20), Target clogs (gift from my in-laws), and JCPenney bag (free with gift cards).

Buy: bowler bag, shoes
Today I wore a jacket out and it was smokin' hot out there. I KNEW I should have worn a cardi but it was just raining on Thursday. Ugh. This weather. I am glad I am not the only one who doesn't plan accordingly...but that's what makes life fun and smelly, right?
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together is having a $25 gift certificate giveaway!
I'm SUCH a fan of classic white shirt and jeans. The black heels and earrings add just enough of a twist to make the classic combo so very you. I'm a huge fan. Congrats on getting to meet internet friends in real life! That sounds so exciting :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Can I just say that I am EXTREMELY jealous right now? Those two girls are my favorites. Also You can never go wrong with a classic white button up and jeans. You look great!
ReplyDeleteLooking pretty Elaine.. :)

I like the crisp white shirt, and jeans. I wish I had a the problem of being 80 degrees though. I'm so ready spring it's not even funny.

You, my dear, make jeans look beyond chic. Love the simplicity & elegance of this outfit. Gorgeous smile and hair, too.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! I like how you buttoned it all the way up. I would have been afraid of that but I love it on you!

I love the look! Cute and Casual.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to start looking for a crisp white shirt ... a great staple to have in your closet.
Elaine - I need to say thank you!
ReplyDeleteI needed new pumps for my honeymoon and remembered you liking tsubo. So i bought a low heel peeptoe leather pump (the erebus model) online on sale (risky I know) and it arrived just in time, shoes are looking gorgeous and I could walk the whole day in them without breakimg them in. and I have wide feet too and ALWAYS get blisters in new shoes. Yay!

Cheers to being clothed (and doing it so well)!!! I think it's great that Brook White got to meet somene who doesn't watch American Idol and doesn't know who she is (I don't know her either). People who achieve minor celebrity can get their heads turned in a bad way--it's good to be reminded they are just people.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could look as chic and classy in jeans and a simple white shirt!
ReplyDeleteThe jeans fits on you so good!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the classic, clean style that you're wearing for today and how fun it must've been to meet up with Summer and Brooke!
ReplyDeletecute and little
80 degrees in January? Doesn't sound difficult to me. Sounds like a dream! I love the simplicity of your outfit. And I love the detail photos you've been adding. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! And WOW you met Brooke!! she was so awesome on American Idol :D
ReplyDelete(guess what...I finally bought those clogs so now I don't have to annoy you by being jealous ;) )

ReplyDeleteI love the crisp, classic look!
ReplyDeleteAlso, your legs are in no way fat!
It is hard to go wrong with the white button down and jeans -- sorry things went awry!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Totally unrelated to your outfit... sorry. But I love your "buy" vs. "shop" links. Brilliant. You are so incredibly savvy. Is it dorky that I pay attention to how you "style" your blog?
ReplyDeleteLeaving the House in THIS?!?!
I love seeing you wear statement earrings! I used to love them, but for some reason I've become terrified of wearing them lately, for fear of dreaded gaudiness! :)You look lovely, and classy as always.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks so beautiful curled. So fun to meet up with other bloggers! Sometimes I forget I don't really know someone in person cause I read their blog so often!
ReplyDeleteI love crisp white cottom shirts with blue jeans....and HELLO! PEGGED jeans! =)
