Like these side shots? They're Chase's doing. As you can see I take long strides. It's to compensate for my short legs. That doesn't really make sense.
I've been feeling uninspired lately and hatin' on all my clothes so I've been going back to the basics and a neutral color palette until I can scrounge up enough money to go shopping again.

Are you my Facebook fan? EXTRA ENTRY. Newbs are welcome. Oldies are even better.

I'm wearing my husband's H&M sweater ($20), JCPenney necklace (free with gift cards), Forever 21 skirt ($6), and Target clogs (gift from my in-laws).

You look so good in black, and I don't say that lightly, because I am usually too hesitant to wear that color all at once (I'm not much of a neutrals person). Love the sparkly necklace too. I hope you find some inspiration in your wardrobe soon.
ReplyDeleteYou look great- even in just black- I love the side shots- they're gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI know that as a style blogger I should be all: "color, color, color!" and "pattern mixing is the best!" but there's something about an all black outfit that just makes my heart stop. Maybe it's my East Coast roots showing, but I love it! Very chic and effortless.
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with neutrals. There is a reason why basic black is classic.
ReplyDeleteI think I've basically put on a variation of this outfit but then promptly changed in fear that I would look like a burglar minus the ski mask. I ran back to something loud and bright and colorful (and boring because it's always the same look for me).
ReplyDeleteThis is a silly notion because what you have here demonstrated is that this is a nice staple piece. Understated and excellent, so you look good despite feeling uninspired.
I'll try not to run next time.
I've been in the rut too. I can't seem to find anything I want to wear that I actually LIKE. So lame. Poor and broke college students :(
ReplyDeleteYour basics looks great together! And your longer strides b/c you have short legs makes sense to me. You gotta take longer strides to be able to keep up with those tall kids who have longer legs than us! :)
Btw, where do you find such a "long" skirt from F21?!
Just Better Together is having a giveaway!
Chase wins for great pictures. And for letting you borrow his clothes.
ReplyDeleteI think black looks nice... and your hair looks really nice, you have the cutest face ever. Not kidding, though that might sound weird.

That's funny - I wore all navy today. Long navy maxi dress and long chunky navy cardigan. It's a monochromatic Monday.

Girl, you make neutrals look gorgeous!! Love it!! The necklace and your confident attitude and pretty smile are all you need :)
ReplyDeleteI did the neutral, monochromatic look, except reversed, the other day :)
I love monochromatic outfits! Minimalism is fantastic. And that necklace really makes it.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your hair looks gorgeous!
Hey! I kinda' like this! It's too cold for me to go bare legged sans tights. I might have to wait for spring, or just had a pair of black tights and heels. I probably need to make a trip to So-Cal this weekend to enjoy the sunshine. It's nothing but fog and drizzle here in Central Ca!

Again, very classy! You don't seem to be short of inspiration at all! Coming up with stylish outfits like that from clothes you already own, seems pretty inspired to me. Have a wonderful day:)
ReplyDeleteWhoever said that all-black is boring is an idiot.

I love this minimalist outfit and THAT necklace is great!
ReplyDeleteOh, Elaine. You always look awesome. Don't be thinking you are uninspired or hating on your clothes. I love your style. Except I keep buying things that I've seen you wearing so stop looking so fab. It's getting expensive.
ReplyDeleteYou look so classically beautiful today. You are wearing a beautimus {as my grandma like to say} smile and flattering, wonderful clothes. Also, those "clogs that I still don't know why they are considered clogs" but are wonderful shoes that match everything. Okay, I'll stop now.
ReplyDeleteNo, just one more. Your hair looks super-dee-duper great.

ReplyDeleteCute photos! I like the walking shots...they look so sweet and natural. I've been feeling blah about my clothes too, I'm just impressed that you still keep blogging. Go you!
