Evidence that I have worn this skirt all week...AKA Monday. I look like a back-up Glee dancer.
Chase was getting so tired of me spinning in my skirt while we took these pics. He didn't seem to mind the few times I flashed him though.
I love wearing white with blue. It might be because half of my closet is white and the other half blue. Not true but it would make getting dressed easier and much more boring. I thought I was so wild for combining the ruffle details from the shirt and skirt. That's like...three ruffles.
If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you may have heard that my husband's been fired as my outfit photographer. He's been super busy with school and comes home late every night...hence, the hallway and night pics. I'm hoping there aren't any hard feelings between us. I think he's already over it. I just bought a remote off ebay and we have a tripod so in theory this should work. But the remote is coming from Hong Kong and our tripod is missing a leg so probably not.
This skirt used to sit on my hips so I always need a belt to wear it. On Saturday night, I took the waistband in to sit at my waist. I love it. I've been wearing this skirt all week!!
I'm not gonna lie - I wore my polka-dot top that day because I needed to wear it one more time before throwing it in the laundry bin. I wear all my clothes a few times before washing it. It's bad for your clothes to wash it after every wear...except your jeans. Jeans never get dirty.
I've had this William Riera dress for a while. I wear his dresses all the time around the house but not very often for the blog. I wore it out on Saturday night for the General Relief Society Meeting. Wasn't it amazing? I just felt so spiritually enriched and nourished afterwards. If you missed it, you can catch excerpts and highlights here. Or if you want the whole thing, you can watch/read it here.
Earlier that day I had worn this. I was running late for the broadcast so I kept my accessories, threw on my purple dress, and put some waves in my already dirty, messy hair.
I'm so sorry I misled some of you to think I was pregnant in my last post. That was cruel. The answer: I am not. If I were, you would all be the first to know...possibly before Chase...because he doesn't believe me when I say I think I'm pregnant when I want to throw up...or when I feel sick...or have a headache...or want ice cream now.
I cut off the bottom half of my dress last night because I was sick of having no clothes. Now I have one less dress and one more top. I kept the raw hem. I like that it rolls up a little.
Interestingly enough, this looks a lot like this outfit. I guess I inspire myself sometimes! (Ha ha.) I just love the orange-yellow color combo. Naturally, I had to add blue into the mix. I was a little wary of pairing my blue jeans with the blue sequin flats (I have a thing about pairing like colors together.) but my shoe selection is limited.
Chase and I went to Venice Beach today because we're fun and spontaneous. (No, we're not.) We tried the Korean BBQ tacos that we've been hearing good things about. It.was.delicious!!! It totally lives up to the hype. You gotta try it.
I went down to San Diego to visit my sister-in-law and her family a couple of days ago. It was nice to get away from applying to and getting rejected from jobs. Sometimes you need a break from doing nothing. It's exhausting.
This outfit reminds me a lot of this one. Doesn't it?? Just swap the shoes for flats and it's pretty much the same. I know - I'm so creative. I liked how it evolved into a more casual look though. I wanted to wear something I would be comfortable in while driving and playing with my niece and nephew. Then my niece decided to spit up her food and throw it at me...and wipe it all over her face and hair. I just kept thinking, "Not on the clothes, not on the clothes!!" I'm going to be an awesome mommy fashion blogger...later.
I recently bought this skirt online because I loved the origami detailing. I got it in my usual size but woe to me, it doesn't hug my body - it hangs from it. The skirt slip peeks out every time I bend to sit down. The fabric feels cheap. So this means I should return it, yes?
Ideally, I would want it up higher on my waist instead of my hips like so. Looking at both pictures, you can barely tell the difference but what you wouldn't know is how it feels on you.
While we were taking these pictures on the fire escape, Chase and I heard this obnoxious sound and came to find out it was coming from this HUGE crow across the street. I don't know about you but if that thing came near me, I would pee myself.
Are sweatpants still okay in public? Because all I can think of are college girls wearing baggy sweatpants with a matching sweatshirt, uggs, and a messy bun. THAT is not okay...
I got these yoga pants for "working out." They are so comfortable I don't ever want to take them off. I only wish they had pockets. I paired these sweats with a fitted ruffle shirt and my motorcycle jacket because I'm hardcore. I like the mix of edgy, feminine, and casual.
Don't forget to enter the Whooga ugg boots giveaway! There are a lot of entries right now but you also have 15 chances to win. Good luck!
There's nothing more Americana than a white button-down and blue jeans. Even if you look Asian and live in Koreatown, you're American in this ensemble. I added my new heels to give it some berry flavor.
Isn't this a cool picture? We were trying to catch a long exposure shot but I can't keep still...ever.
I've been on the look-out for colored heels for a while...like ever since Kendi got a red pair.
I wanted to pair my new berry heels with this blue floral skirt but couldn't think of a top I wanted to wear it with. I finally settled on this chambray top again. I guess that trend is here to stay!
So I was feeling all good about myself because of this blue shirt-skirt combo...especially because I'm not that fond of wearing like colors together. Then as Chase and I were walking out the door, I realized I've worn this before here. I thought I was cool for thinking up something new and interesting. Wait, no, I still am. (Hehe.)
A few weeks ago I received this beautiful headband I won from Wanderlustings. I am not a headband person as you may have noticed (because I have a big head), but I really wanted it to adorn my hat. I love it. I think it completes my hat and my hat completes it. Do you wear headbands? I'm starting to reconsider it because of my bangs.
I basically revolved my outfit around this hat/headband duo. I used my hat flower as the focal point of the outfit and wore dark neutrals to give it that extra pop it deserved. The rope belt was a little tricky. I had to make sure I wouldn't be making too many bathroom breaks to get out of this mess.
We went to a Korean BBQ restaurant with some friends tonight and I needed something that would transition from day to the chilly night (and to stuff my face). The boyfriend jeans worked for the stuffing of the face but not the stripes....such a horrible choice, I know. But it went so well with the outfit that I figured if I sucked my tummy in for a little, the food baby would go away. It didn't...which is why I'm hunched over.
I thought of this outfit in 5 minutes. I was giddy all day. I should also mention that it took me an hour of indecision before I came up with it. Still. It was a proud moment for me.
Not really sure when or for what I wore this. But I did...sometime somewhere...like on this couch.
The trendy chambray/denim shirts are slowly melting away but I still love 'em. Trends come and go so don't let that influence your shopping decisions. Buy what you love and not only what Forever 21 and H&M say are cool...but when they're sequin flats for $5, you should probably get them...and give 'em to me. What trends have you bought into that you regret now?
This is our dining area. It's only big enough to fit two people, which is fine because we don't have any friends in L.A. yet. Will you be my friend?
I wore this a couple of weeks ago when we went shopping. When shopping, you should wear clothes that can come off easily and comfortably. I chose leggings and a big t-shirt. The sequin flats make it a little more put together instead of looking like I just rolled out of bed. I remembered to put on a jacket before I left because it gets pretty chilly here at night.
Some of you have asked to see our studio apartment - here it is. This is all of it. You think I'm kidding but I told you it was teeny tiny. My husband sleeps on the floor and I get the couch. Okay, that part I'm kind-of kidding about - this is our "sitting corner" because the TV doesn't work. And it's not big enough to be called the living room.
I wore this a few weeks ago when we went to Walmart. NEVER again. Walmart in Los Angeles is sooooo different from Walmart in Salt Lake. We've switched to online shopping for our groceries. I wish. I probably should've worn skinny jeans so as to touch the floor as little as possible. But I love how long my legs look in these!
Sometimes I pick out my clothes the night before. Sometimes I wear it and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I have no idea what I'm wearing the next day at all. Sometimes I just want to wear one article of clothing. Sunday was one of those days. I wanted to wear this blazer, belted. I went along with a nautical theme with the stripes and white skirt. But I also didn't want it to be too nautical so I chose tan accessories.
My bottom isn't usually striped - only when I'm wearing white...and a striped shirt...and no slip.
