Potential Librarian

It was so gross today in Utah. One day it's 70 degrees and now it's in the 30s. I definitely won't be missing this weather when we're in LA! We're so excited...even for the moving part. This was our first apartment since we've been married so it'll be fun to see how our new one will feel.

Salt Lake...the Windy City?

Today was soooo windy. It felt like a tornado was coming. After living in Rexburg, Idaho for three years, I've become quite annoyed with big gusty winds.. But I sucked it up and had my lover boy take my pics because it was good lighting today.

Okaaaay, I really didn't wear these wedges all day. I changed to flats at work and walking home. But to be honest, I prefer flats over heels any day! ...mostly because I like being able to run...especially since I'm always in a hurry!

Sneak Peek

Today Cindee and I went around downtown doing a mini photoshoot. Then we topped it off with some Indian food...yum! It was fun...except for the unwanted attention we received from a few creepers!! No, we do not want a kiss and, no, we will not go to the bar with you!

Memory Grove

Here is the second dress I received from William Riera. This is the Athena dress. I fell in love with this dress when I first put it on. I didn't like it at first because of the two buttons on the left side of the collar but it fits so well and so comfortably that it doesn't even matter! Plus, you get extra tummy coverage. I wore this around the house all day just because I feel like I'm wearing pajamas....but in dress-form.

This post is dedicated to my dear husband who I begged to take me to the park for pictures. He had a bunch of school things to do during the break and he stayed home all day today to do it but he couldn't concentrate because of me. I've been jabbering away about blah-blah-nothings as I cleaned and tidied up and he had to put up with it! Poor guy. I think we need an office.

Anyway, we finally heard back from grad schools for him! Now we have to decide between Utah and USC. On our way home from San Diego, we visited USC and LA and we absolutely loved it (especially Koreatown)! We just need to figure things out financially....because we're poor, you see. So what do you guys think... Utah or USC?

Why I love San Diego

...because of views like this! I'm not mad here - I am just squinting from the bright warm sun that is apparently foreign in Utah. We are headed to LA tomorrow to check out USC for a second (...for me, and an hour for him) and then we're on the road again. In the meantime, check out another interview at myla rose!

I just got back from meeting with Kelsey from Courageous Mother. We've been e-mailing for a while and so it was great to finally meet her in person!! She is so funny and so sweet. We've already planned our second date in the summer. (Debye, we missed you!)

Salking

As a wife of an architecture student, we had to go to the Salk Institute. I wasn't as enthused about it as he was but at least he felt enlightened! ..and then he let me shop at Pacific Beach! But that's what marriage is about, isn't it? Compromise?? hahaha ;)

Middle of Nowhere

Finally made it to SD! That was a long 13 hour drive... We were so tired and ready to get out of the car!! So don't mind my tired face. Okay, I have to go. My nephew wants me to play Sega with him...and he is tickling my feet!

Accidentally Green

If you couldn't tell already, I am not Irish. Today's green was by accident! I was running late today so I hurriedly threw on what I wore last night while out with a friend (with the exception of the pearl necklaces). At least, no one pinched me today....or last night.

Red Stems

Open-toe shoes mean spring is around the corner - hallelujah!!! Maybe one day I'll be able to wear these wedges again sans tights.

I swear I'm not purposely pulling my skirt up to show off my hot legs - skirts and tights don't seem to work well together while you're walking....or posing, in this case.

William Riera and Renee

William Riera sent me this gorgeous Renee dress (and two others) to review. This is my absolute favorite from his site. I love the pleated details in the sleeves and at the waist. And the fabric is nice and stretchy!

I actually had the pleasure of meeting William a few weeks ago. He offered to custom fit all three dresses for me!!!! They now fit like a dream. I am not a fan of empire waist dresses because they make me feel like I'm pregnant but his dresses make me feel like a goddess with the subtle shirring and the jersey knit fabric. Just be careful of the sizing - I am almost always a size small but when I tried it on, it was too big for me so I wear an extra small in his dresses.

Yesterday Was Friday

This is what I wore on Friday. I didn't have time to post it until now. It's been a busy but great day for me spiritually. I prepared my Relief Society lesson and was on such a spiritual high that I needed to go to the temple. And I'm so glad I did - it just made me realize more and more how true the gospel is. It makes me so happy and I just want to shout it from the mountains!

Here is my bag a few of you have asked to see. It's not structured and I didn't like it at first but it's growing on me! What do you guys think?

Wishlist

There are a few things I would have liked to change about this outfit today. I wish I had a cropped moto jacket. I wish I had a poofier skirt. I wish my denim shirt didn't show so much boobage - I'll have to redo that later. I'm not bitter - I just have a few new things to shop for now ;).

I just bought this bag from Old Navy for our PI trip. I love the vibrant color. Lately, everything I've bought has been for our PI trip... :D

Sweet Androgyny

I've always been a fan of masculine clothes. I think it's sexy when a woman can don a man's clothes and be able to pull it off a la The Sartorialist. I did not wear any men's clothing today so I guess this isn't sexy. I know it's great to balance the masculine pieces with feminine but I didn't want to overdo it with a big necklace or something. Sometimes simplicity is best.

A few of you have mentioned my hair. The waves aren't natural... I wish! It's super easy - I put my hair up in two buns at night after showering. Then in the morning I poof it out, curl my bangs and roots where it's flat, spritz some hairspray and I'm set. Takes me about 5 minutes!

Bubblegum Legs

For my second pair of tights I received from We Love Colors, I chose the light pink ones. It's funny - the colors they show online are a lot lighter than in person! But I still love 'em. I got quite a few stares today. I don't think Utahns are ready for colored tights yet.

As I mentioned before in my previous post, if you are looking for bright flashy tights, We Love Colors is where it's at. I didn't think I'd like them because they were too bright for me but with my boring wardrobe full of neutrals, it's nice to have some pops of color! Just make sure to get your sizing right - I got a size small but they start riding down after a few hours or so. So I guess if you go to the bathroom a lot you can adjust throughout the day - just sayin'.

The Color Green

How do you like my new green tights?!? I got the microfiber/nylon tights and they are nice and thick - perfect for the winter. I am so fascinated and intimidated by its bright greenness. You guys know I'm a lover of neutrals so I had a hard time figuring out how to wear them. But then I realized the best way to wear color is with neutrals! So BAM. ...except I don't know if I like this outfit anymore...especially because I'm not a fan of cap sleeves...they tend to accentuate my arm flab :(. I should've worn a cardigan or something...

Prairie Wind
