As you guys know, Chase and I are in Sac-town for the holidays. We're here for two weeks. I thought it'd be fun to show you what I packed...especially since I first tried dumping my fave items into my suitcase but the resourceful side of me said, "You're an idiot," so I went back and packed items I'd be able to mix and match better. I've already created four outfits from these pieces (one, two, three, four is below).

secondhand Forever 21 cardigan, Gap turtleneck, thrifted Talbots blazer, Gap striped shirt, Gap orange dress-now-shirt, JCPenney polkadot shirt, DownEast shirt, JCPenney button-up, top from Korea, Hanes t-shirt, Gap button-up, not shown: Herro Hachi shirt, Anthropologie sweater

JCPenney broach, JCPenney earrings, JCPenney cluster necklace, JCPenney rhinestone necklace, reworked JCPenney necklace, faux pearl necklace, secondhand white necklace, not shown: Anthropologie necklace

Aaaand this is what I wore yesterday. It was a one-picture day. If you're a fashion blogger, you know what I'm talking about. It's when you look tolerable in one out of a gajillion pictures...also when your outfit looks better in your head than it does on you.

I'm wearing a Gap button-down ($12), Anthropologie necklace (free with gift cards), secondhand BDG jeans ($10), flats from the Philippines ($7), and JCPenney bag (free with gift card).
I really like seeing posts from other people to see what they are packing, it helps me edit what I'm packing... haha. Hope you have a great holiday! I'm also jealous you are in much warmer weather than I am... so many perks to living in Cali!

Your skirt from Korea is a gem and I love the leopard print scarf! Have fun on your trip!
ReplyDeleteWe're gone for three weeks and I had so much trouble deciding what to bring. So cal can be tricky weather wise. I ended up with two bags which is way excess for me. The goal this trip though is less sweats and more real clothes. We'll see... :)
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable!
ReplyDeletei suck at packing, I can't even make a decent bag just for one day.... that bad i am... so these days for me are hell, but you gave me some good ideas with the button ups..
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together
I am a horrible packer! I hate packing and end up bringing way too much and then not wearing 1/2 of it! I think I just don't travel enough. That's my problem. I need to travel more, therefore allowing me to practice packing!
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday!
Great packing job! And love the outfit :D

I absolutely love that someone can relate to me in situations like these. I traveled to the country of Jordan last week and had such a hard time packing, but I had to pick outfits and accessories that would mix and match with others. I'm so glad I came across your blog!
ReplyDeleteI surprised my self this year... i managed to pack about that same amount of clothing (different distribution of items though because sadly I can't steal your closet (just kidding...)) for an entire month. Have a great vacation!
ReplyDeleteI'm about to start packing myself. Thanks for the look into your suitcase. It's given me inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteBetter Than a Milk Mustache
Ugh I hate one shot days especially if you love the outfit. I think you did a great job of packing for two weeks. If it was me I would be agonizing for days about what to bring. Packing absolutely sucks...
ReplyDeleteCuuteee! I hate packing. I never pack right. I hope everything goes well!
ReplyDeleteI actually really like that outfit =)
ReplyDeleteHow longs are you going to stay there? Five shoes is a lot!

Beautiful neutrals and jewelry, you're going to look fabulous every single day!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! And I think you have a good selection from what you packed. :o)

Looking chic as usual Elaine.
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit. The light skinny jeans look awesome with that button-down!
ReplyDeletehehe. This is totally how I pack. First, all the things I want to wear... and then I get practical :)
ReplyDeletehave happy and safe travels to Northern Cali!

I'm from Sac! Let me know if you want tips on what restaurants to go to :D
ReplyDeleteRecording on pictures what you pack is a good idea! I think it would make me pack better (or not). Seeing it in a more abstract way might allow me to be more structured... I am a terrible packer. I will definitely try this next time so I don't pack tons of useless stuff.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!

sacramento... youre so close to me! hope you have fun :) btw, such a cute blog.
ReplyDeleteYour such a better packer than me. I don't review I generally just throw random crap in a bag and end up wearing the same few things over and over...
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great time!
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit, clean and crisp and very pretty
I love seeing other bloggers doing packing posts and then seeing all the remixes!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the necklace you're wearing!! Stunning!
Elaine, have a Merry Chritsmas and enjoy your holidays!
I need you to come coordinate me for my next travel adventure - you're inspiring :)

cute outfit. i love all the clothes and accessories brought along. especially the scarfs!
ReplyDeletemerry Christmas ♥
I love the necklace over the shirt with the skinny jeans. And your items look great - can't wait to see what you wear. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAll your clothes are lovely and have a good price on them! Just wondering, how did you fit all those wonderful shoes in your luggage for your trip? And your outfit looks professional, but casual enough to just go out for a trip to the mall or something. Love it.
ReplyDeleteSuch an efficient packer! Looks like you have a lot of great options. Your button down reminds me that I need (read:NEED!) a new one. I should check out the GAP's options. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou did so much better at the packing thing than I did. What is it that makes me hate the outfits I come up with on vacation? Also, I laughed at your comment about only liking one picture and outfits looking better in your head than on your body. I KNOW! But yours looks darling, so no fair that you didn't like it so much.
