I was having a hard time figuring out what to wear and I remembered I was selling this sweater. I only wore it like three times. Okay, that's a lie. It's five. It went into the for-sale pile because it hit right at my hips and I didn't like how it fit my big, buff upper arms. (Kidding. It's all fabulous flab.) BUT this outfit may have changed my mind... I'm going to leave it up in the shop for a few more days just in case somebody still wanted it. If not, it's going back into rotation! See what you guys are doing to me when you don't buy my clothes??

Surprise! I'm wearing socks...that you can see...and they are over my jeans. I feel so Nerdy. I always liked it in theory but never thought it would be comfortable to have three layers on your calves. But it's actually quite comfy. The socks made it easier for me to get my jeans into the boots. You know...when it bunches at the bottom and then you're trying to get your hand in there to smooth it out but then your hand gets stuck? No? Never happened to you? I guess I have fat hands. Kidding. I have man hands.

I'm wearing a Steve and Barry sweater (on sale here!), Old Navy belt ($10), J.Crew Outlet shirt (gift from my mom), J Brand jeans ($158), socks from Korea ($5), thrifted boots ($8), JCPenney bag (free with gift card), gold necklace (gift from my mom), and Spanish pendant ($30).

I love the socks/boots thing! I will def have to try that one :) You look so gorgeous in this outfit.
ReplyDeleteSo, I've been tucking my pants into my socks for a while now when I wear boots. My question is... Do you wear your socks out of your boots so they're seen or is that just for the photo?
ReplyDeleteI saw a girl wearing knee high socks over tights the other day and I thought it was pretty dang cute.
I love this outfit, especially with the socks sticking out of the boots! And I'm not saying this because I wore almost the exact same outfit yesterday...
ReplyDeleteI think you should maybe keep this sweater. It looks pretty fabulous on you.
ReplyDeleteAAAANNNNd, embrace the socks + jeans + boots look; it's a keeper! (at least for the rest of the season)
Leaving The House in THIS?!?

A Slip Shop, the socks were intentional! And I only have ankle socks... I should probably invest in some longer socks.
ReplyDeleteSo lately I've been tucking my jeans into my socks, but it never occurred to me to try it with knee socks. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable. Don't sell it! It compliments you so nicely xx
ReplyDeleteMust remember this socks over the jeans trick...
ReplyDeleteIf you don't love it, sell it... but it looks so cute on you! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the way this outfit looks on you!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have trouble sometimes with my boots and the bottom of my pants. I use one of those tools people use to get their heels into their shoe. It works until you accidentally loose your grip and let it fall in :)
Just Better Together is having a giveaway!

i very very very much love this outfit!!
ReplyDeleteI like the socks idea. I think it's super cute. Have you tried or considered leg warmers instead? I've seen that done a lot. But, then you'd have like a billion more layers because you'd still need socks, right? Well, whatever. Beauty knows no pain!
ReplyDeletei love the socks like that! i find it so much more comfy because then my jeans can't scrunch up in a weird way inside my boots. i think that sweater is great on you too- such a pretty color, and very flattering! you should keep it. ~joelle
