I just ate way too much pizza for one person...and put way too much garlic on it. Chase and I are making out.........never.

If this outfit and this one got together, this outfit would be the resulting offspring. I originally wanted to wear this white button-up with Chase's cardigan. But it didn't feel right. Probably because it's made for a man and not a petite Asian...girl. So I went for the fitted cardigan with loose armpits - totally hate that (weird style peeve #1). I added the pink necklace because the only other colorful necklace I have is my yellow flower one and I didn't want to pair the yellow with the gold in my shoes (weird style peeve #2). Tell me some of your weird style peeves so I don't feel so weird and so I don't have to type weird style peeve anymore.

I'm wearing a reworked JCPenney necklace (free with gift card), Gap shirt ($12), Old Navy cardigan ($18), J Brand jeans ($158), flats from the Philippines ($7), and JCPenney bag (free with gift card).

I will never wear brown and black, even though it is now acceptable to do so.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I can't mix gold and silver.
And I always have to have a cami on underneath everything--even t-shirts.
I hate brown and black together except on SOME occasions!! and same with dejahlynn, I always have to wear a cami underneath everything except a dress.
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of my favorite casual outfits I've seen you wear. You look fabulous. I've accidentally used garlic instead of Parmesan cheese before...let's just say that was an unexpected flavor.
ReplyDeleteNo Guilt Fashion
Love how u always experiment with textures and colors..love this look..Chic casual..
ReplyDeletexoxo
P.S. U look lovely with ur hair up
Weird style peeves: Loose armpits, when men wear black shoes that aren't dress shoes to church and nylons with open toe shoes.
ReplyDeletestyle peeves: when people wear whatever is trendy whether it suits their body type of not. and grunge, so glad it's going out of style. finally...
ReplyDeleteStyle peeve on myself: Jeans that fit my rear and legs fine but the flipping waist doesn't button bc my belly is too fat!. I am planning on buying size 2 maternity jeans so I don't have that problem, but I realized after I tried them on that I have to take in these $39.99 (ouch)even-size-2-Target jeans at the rear & legs.. CANT WIN !! ugghhhh..Yvonne in Nashville, who doesn't know what Google account-LiveJournal-WordPress-Type Pad-Aim-OpenID-name URL-is-so,-I-always-have-to choose-Anonymous-ughh-
ReplyDeletecute - love the green and the white together with that chunky necklace. and yes of course, love the ever so popular bun!
ReplyDeleteim in totally agreement - one of my style pet peeves is matching. i hate it when even my nails match any accessory or piece of clothing. never, never!
hey there! i've been a follower of yours for quite some time and i had to let you know how much i love this look!! the color combination is gorgeous and the silhouette of this ensemble is perfect! i'm such a fan of skinnys, flats, and a cardigan! you look great! (:
ReplyDeleteDwelling&Telling
I love the bun! I'm seeing everywhere lately...very cute.
ReplyDeleteI always wear a cami with everything which I think is really weird! Anyway, I actually do love the bun. It looks super cute with the outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI love your hair! Its a nice change =)
ReplyDeleteI really like that pop of green! I think it looks great with the blouse underneath. Did you wear that to work for Friday? =)
I really hate, like REAAALLLY hate large armpits too, its like.. weird you know? It's like... I dunno, I feel like it makes me look bigger and that the shirt is too big..
Bellesme
I lvoe your necklace :)
ReplyDelete"Chase and I are making out.... never." Hahaha! I loved this post and I love the outfit. Especially the green. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this outfit and your hair. Gorg. Oh and the header...you nailed it. Love it the best.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the saggy arm-pits unless it is suppose to be the "look."
ReplyDeleteWhen I buy jeans, the zipper has to be in the front, from the crotch up to the band. There can't be a gap of sewed fabric at the crotch and then like an inch up, the zipper. I think it makes me look weird and make my thighs appear fatter. Do you get what I mean by the zipper thing? I asked B, and he says it's not noticeable, but to me it is SO noticeable. Please tell me you notice it too so I know I am not going crazy.
Just Better Together
elaine i did my hair the same way today!! no way. i am feeling so stylish now! not just a dirty lazy haired girl!
ReplyDeleteGreat and simple look. You played well with accent colors!I'm totally into buns at the moment,It's so easy to do and way stylish!
ReplyDeletethis necklace is beautiful and it adds a wonderful girly touch to the outfit. the top knot looks so stylish on you. love it!!

Sooo... like the new header, like the green, LOVE the bun. Mkay? Have a great night!
ReplyDeleteI love what you wearing... you look lovely in that shirt, personally I look awful in shirt and jeans! haha
ReplyDeleteAnd the bun really suits you! And again, I call that kind of bun as a "Korean bun" hehe. Ahhhh wish I could do my hair like that... I've tried so many ways but just didn't work for me *bad times*
Hope you have a nice weekend xx

ReplyDeletebloggers who claim to be about fashion but are really just showcasing everything they bought this week. and we never see the same thing worn twice. what's the point? i can collect catalogs if i want to see that. i can't imagine how much debt they have.
Love the green and the pink necklace really matches well!
ReplyDeleteYou're hilarious
ReplyDeleteI love the green with the black. Can't think of any weird style peeves right now but I am sure I have loads.
ReplyDeletelove the bun! and the outfit! really pretty! good job :)
ReplyDeleteI don't do blue-black or brown-black, but I love red with hot pink or orange. And whatever happens, my shoes have to match whatever I'm wearing on top. I'm crazy like that, and have accumulated a huge shoe collection because of it.
ReplyDeleteNice casual outfit. I like the poses, especially the second one. And don't worry, garlic breath goes away ;-)
ReplyDeleteloving your efortless look and the necklace is adorable !
ReplyDelete:) green look nice on you, it brings some color to the outfit :) check out my color adding ... :)
ReplyDeletehttp://urbanprettygirl.blogspot.com/
you look gorgeous, la la love this outfit + color combo.
ReplyDeletestyle peeves? can't mix gold and silver unless its on the same piece of jewelry (like on a necklace). people who wear pants that are too short. too matchy matchy bugs me too.
love the new header too! looks great!
Bright colors look amazing on you! Gah, I love this outfit...I think I'll recreate it.
ReplyDeleteadorable as always!
ReplyDeleteYou're cute and funny! Love this simple outfit in you :)
ReplyDeleterealy chic. simple clean, and effortless beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteNatalie's-the blog
Well, we certainly can´t smell the garlic, and if you guys both had it, making out shouldn´t be a problem nevertheless :)
ReplyDeleteLooking great, by the way !
Love this outfit!!!
ReplyDeleteI have some pretty weird style peeves too, but I can't really think of any at the moment, I only notice them when I'm trying to get dressed XD
http://aclosetfashionista.blogspot.com/
I really like this outfit, you have a gift for pulling things together. Simple, yet beautiful!
ReplyDeletelove your outfit and that necklace is stunning!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely perfect combo!!!
ReplyDeletelovely look! I love that necklace and your flats!! You always look perfect:)
ReplyDeleteAnd i LOVE your bun:)
I really like the green cardi with the pale pink necklace. Darling look.
ReplyDeleteNovember Grey
Okay. Seriously. You can put together a simple outfit and look ah-maz-ing. Whenever I put on a simple outfit, I look frumpy. Maybe I am just frumpy. I don't know. You are such a style inspiration. :) Also, I liked your sequined blazer outfit yesterday. Again, I don't think I could pull it off but you looked fabulous.
ReplyDeletehttp://betterthanamilkmustache.blogspot.com/
Hmm style peeve, I'm gunna say green and pink together and now you're gunna be like 'oh just insult my outfit!' I'm not, they're just two colours I don't like separately and therefore can't comprehend them being together in my wardrobe. In everyone else's it's fine though :) Which means I like your outfit :)

you look fabulous. You always make the most simple pieces look amazing. That's why I keep coming back to your blog.
ReplyDeleteSo simple but chic! :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this! I wish I could pull off the slim dark pants, but alas my hips don't agree with the look!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, style peeves? Socks with open toed sandals. Vomit colored tights. Leggings as pants when you aren't wearing a tunic or something longer on top, denim with denim. I'm sure there's a lot more =P
I love this look and the bun!
ReplyDeleteBaggy pants that show six inches or more of underpants - Come on guys!
ReplyDeletelove the bun and love the way green looks on you :)
ReplyDeleteclothes are cute
I actually DO like your bun! I wish I could do my hair.. I just never really learned how so I just always leave it down!
ReplyDeleteGreen is great on you !
ReplyDeleteMy weird pet peeve is the opposite of one that you mentioned earlier... I can't stand wearing necklaces with crew neck T-shirts! The clash of the V created by the necklace with the round neckline DRIVES ME CRAZY. I only wear necklaces with V-necks. I think this is because I'm busty and short waisted and all the V's are supposed to elongate my torso.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love this outfit -- you look very fresh and very gamine-ish.
the renegade bean
I love the green sweater with the pink necklace!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate when people wear both gold and silver jewelry pieces, not one that have both colors- separate pieces; like silver earrings and a gold bracelet or something, even if t actually manages to match or look good. It still bothers me to no end.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit, especially the green/pink contrast.
ReplyDeleteFor myself, I'm weird about wearing blue with jeans. I know that doesn't make sense, but I only own two blue tops because I think they look wrong with jeans. And the black/brown combo. It looks good on some people, but I just think it looks wrong on me.
i'm so in love with that bag... and those shoes!
ReplyDeletecute...outfit!!! I love the green cardigan and with the hairstyle...it matches the outfit...
ReplyDeletelove the jeans plus the flats...that is so you...your own style...but I still cannot get over the beautiful necklace...gorgeous Elaine...

Love the green cardigan.
ReplyDeleteMy style peeves include mixing black and brown and blue and black.
You look great!
ReplyDeleteMy current biggest style peeve is "coverage" tees (aka modesty tees) under strappy tops! HATE IT!
I love your green and pink color combo, very pretty!
