Outfit Funk

Chaser-babe helped me pick this out last night. He picked out the shirt. I picked out the necklace, belt, skirt, and shoes....only after I said no to all his other suggestions. Still...he's a sweetheart. <3

Lately, I've been in an outfit funk, which is why Chase was so eager to help after he saw me in front of our closet crying...inside. What are you wearing tomorrow?? Give me some ideas? ..or come pick out my outfit for me? Let's make that every day and it's a deal.

We took pictures the other way to test the lighting out. Welcome to the other side... It's not as pretty.

  1. Your outfit looks great, so Chase must have good taste. I like the lighting on the other side of your hall, but the background isn't as cute.

  2. Chase has excellent instincts!

  3. definitely prefer the lighting on the other side even if it doesn't have a cool window! Love this outfit- that skirt is just perfection... ;). and i love it with the soft colors and that belt- great team work!

  5. I think as long as those Tsubo shoes are included, any outfit you wear will be a winner :) I love that pretty, full, swingy skirt too!

  6. ha ha I do the same thing to Matt poor guy. I ask for suggestions and then end up doing my own thing. Our poor men should be put in a husband's of fashion bloggers support group.

  7. I actually like the lighting the other way. The whole time I thought you meant a hallway in your house or something, so I was like omg? how come your house is so long? =P
Thats so sweet of him =) I would help you, but I cant see your closet, lol
    Sorry <3
Try pairing..... some white pants (I guess it could be jeans?) with your jean jacket/shirt thingy. I forgot the name. Or.... wear a long sleeve shirt, patterned striped, etc. with a simple vest, it can be those long flyaway vests or a short one.
Obviously, those might not even be your style. So, again, sorry <3
Sending you hope and creativity (not that I have any) =)

  8. Hahaha! That sounds like what I do to my husband when he picks out my outfits.
I love the twirliness of that skirt. Twirliness is a word, right?

  9. Ooh now this is cute! I love it!!

  10. No, no no. I need you to come and pick out MY outfits, as I'm in an outfit funk as well. I keep wanting to post outfits, then I realize that I wore the same thing the last time I take pictures, and I'm like CRAP. I can't wear that if I'm going to take pictures. Arg, so is life I suppose.

  11. I am so jealous of that lace belt, always have been :P And I seriously love all your knee-length skirts. I've been looking some, but I have not found even one knee-length skirt in my entire city even after days of browsing stores for that specific reason.

Also, the lighting is definately better without the window behind you, even the background doesn't look quite so pretty.

  12. I get jealous every time you wear that skirt! And did you just call your husband "Chaser-babe?" Ha ha!

  13. i think it would be the sweetest thing to let him pick out your outfit and wear it on a date. No vetoes allowed for that one night. How great would that be?

  14. You always manage to be so incredibly adorable and beautiful. And for the record, I like the other view. While the background isn't as pretty, the lighting is much better.

  15. Awe ahaha, Chase seems like my bf!
    Nice outfit.

  16. I really like the photos facing the other way :) The lighting really is a lot better. You should take photos there more often! I need to ask Robert to choose an outfit someday and see what he comes up with. I'd probably say no to a lot of his suggestions too!

  17. i like the soft colors together they make the whole outfit feel girly and clean...if that makes any sense...
haha guys are so funny when it comes to helping out with clothes! my bf means well too but...let's just say if he picks out my clothes than chances are i'm going to look like a hooker :P

  19. I like that you took pictures the other way, it might not be as pretty but you can definitely see your outfit better! Which I love, I love floaty skirts, they just make me want to twirl all day!

  22. I agree that the 'other side' isn't as pretty, but the lighting is better!

You are always so creative and well put together. But I understand that our own expectations sometimes can drive us crazy. Don't pressure yourself too much, just follow your instincts.

  23. Its pretty amazing that Chase is able to help you out. My hubs is in his surgery rotation, so I haven't seen much of him lately (he did a 20 hr shift on Sunday, 5 hr break and a 13 hr shift!) but when he is around, he just wants me to get dressed quickly! Thankfully I've gotten better at getting ready, but I still have days where I stare at the closet wondering how the heck I am going to pull an outfit out of there

  24. Oh, don't take any suggestions from me. I'm wearing jeans and a sweater, the end. I love seeing what pretty things other people wear, though! :) And definitely start taking pictures the other way. You're lucky to have such a big window to give you some gorgeous diffused lighting. And we can see your pretty outfit WAY better :)

  25. Oh, but a tip! If you want to keep taking pictures the other way because the background is prettier use flash to fill in a bit. If all you have is a pop-up flash, try the tip linked below to help you bounce your flash off the ceiling to avoid nasty harsh flash. It really works!

  26. Sometimes my fiance picks out clothes for me when I don't know what to wear either :)

That color pink looks really pretty on you!

  27. Elaine that belt is fabulous !
My husband sometimes picks things for me, he USUALLY has really good taste.

  28. Wow - I'm impressed! Pass along a "good job" to Chase for me, ok?

  29. You're the prettiest thing!!! I love your outfits. Every. Day. If I didn't live on the opposite side of the country, I'd gladly come play dress up with you! :) That's one of my favorite things to do, help friends who aren't seeing the potential in their closets make new matches! :)

  30. It seems we all come to that funk, doesn't it? Time to hit the thrift store for something old, something new.

  31. i love this look and these pictures are ridiculously sweet.
sometimes i get in outfit funks, too, and i WISH someone would break me out of them, but i find i have to break myself out somehow.
maybe a new color combo would put more pep in your step?

  33. Fantastic styling today. That belt is incredible. Great outfit for someone who wasn't feeling very inspired :)

  34. I'm sorry you're in an outfit funk. On the other hand, great teamwork! You and Chase did a great job of picking out a cute outfit.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am really inspired by this outfit. I think the belt adds such a nice touch to the rest of the outfit.

  36. A lovely look, you and Chase did a great job. I prefer the lighting at the other end of the hall - it's not as pretty but it shows the colours more clearly. I hadn't realised your skirt was blue until I say those photos.

    Either way, you look wonderful.

  37. Lovely, lovely outfit. And I've got to agree with what others have already said - the lighting is so much better the other way (I actually thought you were wearing your grey knee-length skirt in the pictures in front of the window). Who cares if the background isn't that exciting? YOU look fabulous.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wow, I wish I had someone to help me pick out super cute outfits like yours! I just have 5 annoying (just kidding) brothers. Really though, even though the hall pictures right by the window are fabulous, the other way makes your colors seem brighter. It really doesn't matter because you always look adorable!

  39. have i told how much i adore that belt? well it's faabulous! love that lace :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. He did a great job! A pretty, feminine outfit. I adore that lace belt!!

  41. AWWW Chase is a doll then aint he :) my brother Clint helps me sometimes when I have no idea what shoes to wear. He's good at shoes (and I tell his guy friends too!)

    Lovin the outfit!

  42. that's so cute ur hubby helped you pick outfits out! I kinda like the other side of the hallway for a different reason. The darkness and multiple doorways feels mysterious and more like story-telling. That probably makes no sense to anyone but me. lol.

  43. It's very cute :) :) I always give mark two options of what I should wear but he wont' answer me anymore because I always choose the opposite one, haha

  44. Noooo!!!.. no funk ...no outfit funk . You are my styler..my inspiration.. Gotta admit though Chaser got it right. I figured he would be a good one to ask since he is an excellent photographer..good eye? Ok, after browsing I'm inspired.. I think I know what I'll wear for church tomorrow. You did it again.. Kamsameda!
