This post is for those who don't like my magically-lit hallway. You're welcome.

I don't normally like wearing necklaces with v-neck shirts. I feel like most necklaces make the v-shape anyway and having two Vs would be too much. I thought since this necklace is layered it would hide the v-neckline but it started bugging me by the end of the day... It's a stupid little thing but it still bothered me.. Do you ever get like that? Or am I just crazy? (I'm totally crazy.)

Tomorrow is a special day. We're going to celebrate my birthday a little early by going to the Korean spa and bathhouse. Yes, I'm SO excited to get nakey with old Asian grandmas and anorexic Korean girls. If you've never been to a Korean spa, there are usually several sauna rooms where you become drenched in sweat and then shower/bathe for hours. If you thought taking a bath was a luxury, try taking a bath in pools and pools of water. It's awesome...once you get over the fact that everyone around you is naked.

  4. I have to admit, the outside pictures look great...but I'll enjoy the pictures wherever they are. Loving the brown boots and black jeans.
PS. I've never seen such a large dollar amount in your outfit description. Good thing they look amazing on you!

  5. Its good to see you outside! I really love that necklace, sweet score on it being free. And that blazer looks gorgeous on you. You make every outfit look good! x

  6. Ha! I don't like necklaces that overlap my shirts, so I almost always wear necklaces with v-necks. I guess that just goes to show you that people are different!

  7. Don't feel like you need to cater to the nay-sayers! That being said, a change of pace is always fun.
I also get crazy with necklines vs necklace debate, but I love this combo! I can't believe you make a Hanes tee look so chic.

  11. Okay, I want to go to a Korean spa so badly right now. I am so cold! (Your comment about old ladies and anorexic Korean girl made me literally LOL, by the way.)

PS- I want your necklace. Gimme.

  12. I found this outfit to be incredible in the first place, but to see where the pieces came from (and the cost!) makes it all the more amazing. It helps me realize I don't need super ridiculously expensive pieces to make an outfit look chic and put together!

    Best,

  13. Yay! You're outside! =) Great photos and great outfit too...blazers and boots are such a strong combination! As for the necklace, I think it's just chunky enough to work.

  14. I really like that necklace with the tee and happy early b'day! ;)

  15. Everything about this outfit is perfectly cute. I do love the necklace t-shirt combo. But I certainly know how you feel: my bag is often full of necklaces by the end of the day!

And the last pic of you is super cute! And the bathhouse sounds like so much fun! Will have to try that!

  16. i love the outfit!!! most of all the blazer... and you´re not crazy, I don't like v-necks + necklaces but maybe that's just a silly idea because on you looks great!

  19. Love this outfit, especially the boots and black pants. I completely understand about the v-neck, I don't usually feel like most necklaces work with them but the pink one does!

Love the layered necklace, but I feel the same way when I wear one. They just feel like a lot. But it looks great!

Btw, hahah that sounds soooo relaxing, but I will never do that =P How are you going to do that with Chase? I mean is that allowed in mormonism? (did I say that right?) =P
    Have fun!
    Happy Birthday!

  25. Thanks for the outdoor pics - the lighting is fabulous and I love seeing all the details of your great outfit!

  26. I have so many weird ridiculous rules that only I care about. I actually almost never wear any jewelry for this reason. I'll put an outfit together, try a necklace, and it's either to short or too long. Or it messes with the integrity of the outfit. The v-neck thing would bother me for sure. I've had better luck with piling on like three rings on one finger or wearing the occasional bracelet.

  27. Your necklace! Love it! And yay for outdoors! Woohoo! Get some food old Vita D. To help break down your calcium. And calcify your bones. To make them strong. *ahem* ... biomed student...

  28. It's a nice change of pace, but I do love the magical hallway :)

  29. I think the V neck with this V-necked shape necklace works well together since it's so chunky. You're making me want to get one myself.

    Happy Early Birthday!

  34. You seem to like this necklace a lot so I don't feel weird that I for 2 months now I'm wearing the same necklace in 2 dif. colors!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Love your bangs and curls! I think V-necks are better paired with choker type necklaces.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Love your outfit and that pink necklace is stunning!

    ReplyDelete
  37. This is such a gorgeous classic outfit, and I can't believe the blazer and boots cost you less than $10 each! I don't know how you do it. ...But I'm not sure what you mean by that double V thing. The necklace and the neckline look great to me.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love the outdoor pics, they show off the clothes so nicely! (Which is kind of the point, right?)

I have a hard time with necklaces that overlap a V-neck too, they either need to go much shorter or much longer for me.

I also really like that you broke the black/brown rule here. If only I could get a pair of pants into my brown boots. With my plentiful calves it's a challenge getting tights in there.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Very chic outfit! Love the contrast of your necklace with your outfit! :) You're so cute!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Little outfit details bug me sometimes as well so I totally understand.

Happy pre bday! Hope you have a great day at the spa :)

  41. Oh goodness, this is such a beautiful outfit! It makes you look absolutely amazing. So very very cute. :D I love the dark colors and then your necklace and boots and yes, I like it all. :D :D

  43. Whhhaaat! I can't imagine anyone doesn't love your magically-lit hallway. I remember doing the spa thing when I was really little. You are braver than I am. Happy happy birthday!!

  44. Please don't take pictures outside, it makes me jealous because there's still leaves on the trees! ;-) (It snowed here a bunch this week. Boo.)
I think the necklace looks just fine with the shirt. But it is your rule!

  45. Aaah...so jealous about your Korean spa day! I wish there was one in SLC. I go every time I visit my parents in WA.

Have a great time and happy birthday!

    ReplyDelete
  46. haha i do laughed at your description of the bathhouse. in china at the hotel spa i realized people are in the nude there as well. ha.

but i love that blazer. i'm looking for a similar one for myself.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I know what you mean about wearing necklaces---by the end of the day, i'm ready to take mine off. Love your pictures!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Love the necklace and how you paired it with a simple outfit!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I love your hair here, very pretty! I wish I could wear blazers but I feel too dressed up in them, even with jeans, I don't know why

    ReplyDelete
  50. i adore this outfit, its so simple but soooo gorgeous! you're darling.

happy early birthday, enjoy the spa!

    ReplyDelete
  51. This look is straight up cool. Is that blazer knit? It looks snuggly. I usually don't wear necklaces with Vnecks for the same reason, so you're not alone in your weird feeling!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I love the blazer! Your hair looks especially nice in these pictures too. I've never been to a Korean bathhouse before; it sounds like it would be very relaxing, but I don't think I'd be comfortable being around so many naked people haha

    ReplyDelete
  53. happy birthday! well, it's ok if no magically lit hallway, then its outdoors lighten up with your smile:) love the neckless!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I've said it before but that necklace is just beautiful :)

  57. Are you a model? Because if not you should be! Hope you had fun at the spa!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I love how your hair looks! Could you do a tutorial, or do you already have one? Of course, you look great, simple, effortless but put together cute :-)

My mom went to a Korean spa last time she went to Korea and liked it, although it took her awhile to get used to everyone being naked.

  59. you are so dang cute, it kills me! i love the first pic, you're gorgeous! love the colors, i'm sporting navy, black and grey today...i'll get a pic up...someday.

  70. I went to a spa/sauna like that one of the times I went back to Germany and it was heaven! Once you get over the fact that everyone... including the ward mission leader and stake president from when you served there as a missionary and their wives!!... are walking around you naked. In the end though, you just learn to look up a lot. I've never felt so clean in my life.
