It was a flats day.

It's been sooo hot in L.A. lately. 90s in November? Seriously?? What happened to the cold 70s and 80s?? (Yes. L.A. has transformed me into that kind of person...)

This is what I wore Wednesday. This seems more my usual style than the last outfit, doesn't it? I've had this outfit lingering in the back of my mind for a while but I haven't worn it because it seemed too predictable and too me. Does that make sense? Or am I just crazy? I'm crazy.

I'm not much of a jewelry person - mostly because I don't have much. And I have a rule to only wear earrings or a necklace but never both like Sarah. But the rebel in me told me to wear both at the same time. It was so crazy and wild. I had a little party later.

  3. Love the skirt.
I don't usually do necklace + earrings either. I thought I was the only weirdo. Which is kind of silly since I read your blog daily. Maybe I'm not a weirdo, I'm just not at all observant.

  14. Yes, why is it so HOT in LA?!? I've been living here all my life and I can't ever remember it being this warm in November.

The t-shirt and skirt outfit is a a favorite go-to of mine as well. I really like the pretty teal color of your skirt. :) Also, I don't know how to pair earrings and necklaces together so I never wear both either!

  15. I just love this outfit. Very you, yes, but very perfect. And you are just too cute. I bet your little party was just delightful.

  19. cute skirt! And another breaking of your fashion rules. It's always best to try right?
My last post, yeah, not something I would normally wear, but it's fun to try something new...sometimes my opinion completely does a 180.

  20. I know what you mean about some outfits feeling predictable. I have outfits like those but when they are haunting your thoughts and you do finally give in and wear them they look so brilliant. Like this. It looks so well put together, so feminine and yet so comfortable. I think the earrings and necklace really pop and the outfit looks less predictable because of them. Very chic.

  30. I love your skirt. The length is perfect and it looks so cute tucked in. I've never been good at wearing things tucked in (especially now that I've got all that extra baby belly skin... agh!). But yeah you look great.

  32. Oh hello back Elaine! Hahaha, you're so funny! I'm just out of time to comment but I keep coming here every day and believe me, you're doing a great job these last days. I think, just like Tania, you have a layiring fairy, hehe. I love this skirt! The length and the color are perfect. I also love knowing that you don't wear earring + necklaces together almost all the time. I feel weird when I do this, I think it's too much information :P

    Beijos, have a great weekend!!

  33. I have the same type of jewelry rule as you - I wear a necklace or earrings, but not both. Sometimes if I'm really feeling feisty I'll wear a bracelet!

Anyway, very classy outfit. Does that pink part at the collar have kind of an unfinished edge? I like it!

  34. Hi, you look gorgeous

  39. Very cute outfit! I don't think its predicatble at all! Be YOURSELF! Thats all anyone can ever ask for. If your not yourself, then why do the fashion blog?! Its wayyyy more fun if you wear what you WANT to wear, than what others want you to wear. Your outfit is beautiful in its simplicity. I love whatever it is your doing to your hair!

  49. You're so lucky you're having great weather! The East coast has been getting some chilly torrential downpours. :(

I absolutely love the color of your skirt. And your printed flats adds such a nice dimension to all the solids in your outfit! And it's really good to have outfits that are "you" and predictable! At least, when you're stumped for ideas you can always go to your comfort zone and what you know will go together.

Oh, I like your simple outfit, especially the skirt.

    and I know what you mean about the crazy weather. One day I'm sweating cause we're in high 80s and today I was freezing in west side. Great. I have no idea what to wear to work e.e;
