Crawling Back

Wednesday, November 03, 2010
This is what I wore on Monday. Man, I'm so behind on outfit posting. When do you guys have time to post? I try to do it right when I get home from work before Chase comes home and realizes there's no dinner on the table. There usually isn't.

This is me crawling back to my rules... I still like how it turned out though - especially because I haven't been yearning to wear these cowboy boots. I wanted to keep it classic but still fun, which is why I wore the boots. I also discovered a new way to tie my belt from Karla's Closet and examples from The Sartorialist. I think this version works best with longer belts.

  1. I'm loving those boots. I'm always scared to get boots from forever 21. I have this weird theory that they'll be uncomfortable....random. Do you like F21 shoes?

  3. I like tying my belts like that too, and whenever I do I almost always get compliments, so kudos! It looks cute with the skirt as well, very simple yet chic :)

  4. I always ask myself how fashion bloggers find time to take photos and post outfits since I work full time and then some. But, I recently came up with my own little method. Outfit photos are taken on my lunch break, and the post is set up while I'm on my laptop in bed at night. So far it works. I imagine its always a juggling act for full time job holders.

  5. I like that skirt. Blue and white is so classic.

I upload photos and write my posts at night, after dinner and whatever else I'm doing. Then I schedule them to post in the morning.

  7. There is not a picture that I can see. Also, why do your posts lately have "lds mormon fashion blog" written over and over in them? Is something going wrong?

  8. Okay after I posted that last comment the pictures showed up but the words are still there. You look so cute. I have a skirt like that and wouldn't have thought to put a white button down with it!

  14. I love the crisp white shirt on you. I find them intimidating (because I never want to look too stiff) but you make it so flirty and pretty. I'm totally inspired.

I love the color of that skirt, it looks so nice with that bright white shirt, (how do you keep it so white?) but the black completes it so nice. Those boots are SO CUTE!!!

  21. Cute boots! Whenever I look for shoes at Forever 21 they look so uncomfortable I don't even try them on - these look comfy. Are they?

  22. I really like how that skirt falls on you. This is so simple and pretty, and I envy you for being able to pull off these casual looks and turning them into something that doesn't seem casual. :)

  23. Very cute. I love the fullness of that skirt. I usually take pictures for my blog whenever I can find someone willing to take them since I don't have a remote and I post them pretty late at night. It takes quite a bit of time though, a lot longer than I thought it would and it's hard to make time, you're right.

  36. Great boots! K is usually home before I am, so ideally, a healthy dinner is on the stove when I get home, K snaps my pics quickly, we eat, and then I blog while K watches sports. What happens more often is I get home, maaaaybe get K to snap some shots, we go out and gorge on unhealthy foods, and I blog while half-asleep from food coma on the couch while K watches sports or naps.

  37. I love this kind of length for skirts :)
You look really nice, as usually :)

  38. As always you look great! I wish I could go thrifting with you-in a non stalker way :-)

I am a total boot fiend and if I could I'd wear them with anything all year round, so it's a good thing that it's fall.

  40. This looks like a great outfit. The skirt and boots look nice together.

  41. This look is so perfectly classic and sophisticated. And then the cowboy boots add an unexpected hint of playfulness. {That kind of made me sound like one of those snobby wine tasters... I can I assure you I am NOT}.

You look great "following" your rules!!

  42. The boots are really cute, and I'm going to try that belt idea sometime soon, darnit.

And as for posting, I usually try to take pictures throuhout the week at the end of the day, (when I'm not working out after work) and then I upload them and schedule the post, then I write the post before it goes up. I usually do some uploading and writing on Sunday, just because I don't have really any time during the week. So, like this last Sunday, I didn't get any posts/pictures uploaded, so alas, no outfit posts this week. Oh well. Nothing wrong with being behind. :)
