My first video. It took me like five tries to stop mumbling and to remember to talk slowly. If you still need help, I'll come over and twisty belt it for you every day. I'll give you the outfit details tomorrow (today). P.S. Told you this was easy. Didn't I? I don't remember.
aw you sound so cute! your voice sounds a little deeper than i thought it would, but you sound great, not mumbly. you actually kind of sound like michell phan, the chick who does all those makeup tutorials!
ReplyDeletegreat video about the belt too, you're so helpful :)
great tutorial!!
ReplyDeleteAAAAHHHHHH!!!! I LOVE YOUR VOICE! *___*
ReplyDeleteAnd it's so nice to see you on video moving. XDDD
Crazy spazzing aside, thank you so much for the video! I think it was reall well done and simple to understand. :D
Soooo cute!

Okay first time commenter, just had to tell you ur super cute Elaine! Hope to see more videos from you.
ReplyDeleteI think all your readers (now listeners too) will be delighted. You have very nice voice :) Are you going to put some more video?
ReplyDeleteYou sound so adorable. :) And I always wondered how you bloggers did that twisty belt thing, thanks for sharing. <33
ReplyDeleteFun!!!!! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI loved your tutorial!! It's always so awesome to put a voice to a face...and congrats about the magazine face time...very awesome for you!
ReplyDeleteYou're so cute! Well... I have to disagree about the similarity with Michell Phan. Michelle sounds a little too soft, girly, and annoying lol. I love her tutorials, though! You have a good balance to your voice! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't do the twisty belt too often because a lot of my belts are too hard and rigid. Good tip though! I need to get thinner, twistable belts!
Yayyy! Great tutorial!! :D
ReplyDeletehttp://aclosetfashionista.blogspot.com/
Cute! I think I already do something similar (usually because my belts are too big!), but I use the belt holes. Your technique probably works better, so I'll be sure to try it!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! I was totally trying to do this the other day because I got a chambray tunic that came with a very similar belt, but I failed miserably haha. This is great!
ReplyDeleteYou sound exactly how I figured you would! You're adorable! :)
i just tried to figure that out the other day and totally failed! how did you know i needed a video tute... did you make this just for me?! :)
ReplyDeleteyour bangs look awesome!
~selina

ReplyDeletehttp://www.afashionfixation.blogspot.com
I love your voice and tutorial. I wish I could find belts big enough to do that with! xo
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Thank you so much, you have solved my problem (yes, I was trying to emulate your belt fastening awesomeness to no avail). I got stuck with trying to use the holes, tisk tisk.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your first video! I look forward to more!
Take care!
Purple Carrots and Fairy Smoke
AH! Too cool Elaine! Love the help! (and your wedding ring!!!!!! I always wondered what it looked like!) 2 cute girly! Thanks for the help! Im going to go try it now!
ReplyDeletePERFECTTTTT! THANKS FOR TEACHING US!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this! I've always wondered how you did that. Haha, I'm a little slow on the draw. :D
ReplyDeletei haven't commented in some time because i was a little busy having a baby and haven't really been spending much time in blogland. but, i am still a reader and still think you are darling!
ReplyDeleteummm, you are about 1,000 times cuter than i already thought! i always guessed at what you sounded like...anyway, great tutorial, quick and easy!
ReplyDeleteI was actually wondering how you do it, thank you so much :)
ReplyDeletewhat a great video! it's funny to hear your voice--you sound just as sweet as i imagined!
ReplyDeleteyou are adorable! and i'm going to twisty belt my outfit today!! thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I wanted to know how to do this. And, this helps me solve the issue of many of my belts being too long.
ReplyDeleteI have totally tried to figure how you do that belt thing on several occasions but have never been successful...so I'm SO happy you did this little tutorial! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou were great! Listening to yourself on recording - doesn't it sound weird? But you nailed the 5th time :)
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together
Your first tutorial is great Elaine! I have been wondering how you did that twisty belt knot! I love it. Cute dress.
ReplyDeleteThaaank you! This is great :)
ReplyDeleteGaaahhh, thank you!!! So simple and easy; I'm going to be trying this all the time now and hoping to have my belts look as stylish as yours!! :)
ReplyDeleteSmall Time Style
short, sweet, simple and to the point. :) thanks, I've been wondering how to do that. You are right, I will definitely be doing that all the time now :) And I agree...you have a really sweet voice.
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeletegonna plan my outfit tomorrow around a twisty belt!!
xo
yay for a video tutorial, you are too cute!!!
ReplyDeleteah so cute! i love the twisty belt, and just like everyone else said, it's nice to have a voice to a face! you're even cuter in real life (:
ReplyDeleteOmg! that was so cute! I love your voice! You have a slight accent but Im not sure what type of accent it is.. but its so cute!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered how to do that.. thanks so much!
Bellesme
Ooh it's really that easy? Must give it a try!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a nice voice by the way. I love getting to hear what bloggers sound like.
Thanks for the tip...and it is interesting to hear your voice.
ReplyDeleteHow cute are you?!?!? Isn't it funny how the simplest things to some people are complicated for others? As a stylist, I hear all the time from people "Oh, I would have never thought of that!" And I don't know how many times I have to show people how to tie a belt or scarf or something! Makes me feel useful. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat tip! I can't wait to try it out!
ReplyDeleteooh fun! Thanks it's similar to something I learned from Cat at Anthrosdottir, but different.. and comes out looking like a totally different effect. FUN! I love new style tips! Thanks girl! <3
ReplyDeleteGosh, I don't like parroting what everyone else says, but you have a wonderful voice! As you tied the belt I couldn't help but think of my ties--if I stop to think about how to tie them, I can't. I have to just grab the tie and do it, so I was impressed you could do the belt thing while explaining it. =)
ReplyDeleteI've seen this in the JCrew catalogs and have wondered how in the heck they do it - and if it was ever something a person who is not standing-still-in-front-of-a-camera-with-a-stylist-for-their-every-need could ever pull off. Thanks to you and your video, I will now be a twisty belt wearing gal!
ReplyDeleteHey, so great to hear your voice. Awesome, really. Do more videos... and have a great weekend, dear!
ReplyDeleteYaaayy! I've been really excited to try out the twisty-belt look and now I know how to do it without having to figure it out on my own, which knowing me would probably take awhile.)
ReplyDeleteThank u so much! this is perfect when the belt is to large and there is no more holes!
ReplyDeletePretty sure my neighbors just heard me say "Oooooooh....it's so easy!" Thanks for sharing, Elaine!
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial, Elaine! I've actually been doing something a bit similar with my belts. I'll have to try this out!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend! :)
You did a good job Elaine and you will much better in the future. It's super nice to put a voice on your photos that I check almost daily.
ReplyDeleteI'd love more tutorials by you in the future.
Hahaha, so good to listen to your voice! It is just like giving life to a doll <3 I also loved the tutorial and the tutorial bar here on the right (: You're so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering how to do that belt thing. Thanks! And you're super adorable btw.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I have a few really cute belts that are too big for me, and this makes them wearable! Finally! Just found your blog, and I'm looking forward to reading more.

I love it when my fave bloggers do a vlog so we can hear them! Too bad I'm too chicken to do it!
ReplyDeletethanks for the tutorial! i always wondered how to do a belt like that. i remember trying a while ago, but failing miserably.
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial and so great to see you in action and hear your voice.
ReplyDeleteIf I say that I don't understand, does that mean you'll come to England to twist up my belt for me? Shame your instructions were so clear, would have been great to go shopping with you.
Thanks Elaine!! I'm going to try it!! I just hope it turns out as good as yours! =)
ReplyDeleteWould never have thought to do this style technique. its simple and looks great!! i'm going to give it a try. thank you
ReplyDeletewww.tsememoirs.blogspot.com
Loved the tutorial. I will definitely be trying this out. Nice to hear how you speak as well.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I can't wait to try it with my new button up and khaki skirt! Thanks :)
ReplyDeletehttp://curvywithconfidence.blogspot.com
Thank you ever so much for the tutorial! I really adore the style, but I never thought to try it myself. It's a testament to what a good teacher you are that I got it on my first try, and the video is super sweet. I'll most definitely have to try it on an actual outfit (rather than over my gym shirt...) asap! Oh, and as a side note, I was really surprised at how well it held! I thought it would "unravel" the second I moved my hand, but it held fast! Awesome.
ReplyDeletei'm so excited to try it! cute video!
ReplyDeletesuper fun and easy tutorial! love it!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this is brilliance!! I have been trying to knot my belts recently but have been doing it in a different (and completely inefficient) way. Thanks for fixing my technique! :)

I think it's pretty obvious, as I am the 67th comment, that this tutorial is great.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for sharing things like this instead of being all like "no, i don't want people copying me"
Why not bless others with your creativity?
Love it! Thanks so much!
Here you go. http://www.theauspiciouslife.com/home/view/revolutionary

I'm rocking the twisty belt!
ReplyDeleteI totally used your tutorial. See: http://eisrandom.blogspot.com/2010/10/fall-fashion-day-2.html
ReplyDeletethis will open up a lot of belts i find at goodwill. i love them, but there is always too much excess. perfect solution!
ReplyDeletegenius
ReplyDeleteI did not read through all of the comments, so I don't know if this has been posted yet, but some retailer has a belt made just like this. The twisty part is already built into the belt and you just buckle it on. I saw it on another fashion blog. I was thinking you're genius either way - you did a DIY of theirs OR they took your idea and mass produced it. What say you?
ReplyDeleteThis is the great tutorial. I have to say I watched it once a long time ago and I couldn't stop thinking about wearing all my belts the same way. Its so creative! Anyway, love your insights!
ReplyDeletethis is an awesome idea! thankyou so much!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great tutorial.
ReplyDeleteCute!! Yeah, that was easy! I'll have to try that. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow it was so cool to hear your voice for the first time after reading your blog for quite awhile. Please do more videos!
ReplyDeletefinally@c5e4516660e82d327b83a6b151896dab xx now I have a surefire way to do it instead of sometimes getting it good and sometimes messing up hahaha it takes me a while!
