Thank You

I start a lot of projects. I also think of starting a lot of projects. ...and I almost always never see them through. I'll be on a high for a few weeks or so and then I'll be over it. It's happened to me with knitting, scrapbooking, sewing (that comes and goes...mostly out of necessity), playing the guitar... My blog is one project. There were so many times I wanted to quit!! But I stuck through it. And for the first time in my life, I am proud of myself. (More proud than when I received my college diploma in the mail....but that is another story.)

Every time I look at my blog, I am so pleased with myself. It was all done with hard work, a ton of hours, and a lot of sweat and frustration. But I've learned so much from it. I learned more about HTML. I learned that Blogger is lame. I learned that my simplicity extends farther than my fashion sense. I learned how to make a little money. I learned to be a better instrument of God. I learned that I have to be in a good mood to take outfit pictures or I'll look mad in all of 'em. I learned to use Photoshop better. I learned to see money, clothes, and necessity all in a new light. I learned to be more inventive with what I have. I learned more about my style and what I like. I learned what self-confidence really means. I learned to love myself.

I've met so many great people and made so many wonderful friends through this. I really never imagined you would all be reading this. To me this is a silly little blog of an insignificant girl who just wants to look and feel good with the little clothes she has. And you all made this happen for me.

I know I can be sarcastic and a little snarky but please know from the bottom of my heart that I am grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you.

  7. What a lovely post! I remember when I first started reading your blog, over a year ago I think, and I must say you have gone from strength to strength and I love stopping by.
I have the same problem with not finishing projects, I have some half finished pillow cases on my dest atm, and ive had plenty of time to finish them, I just become uninterested somehow. I hate that.
Anyways looking forward to your future blogging Elaine :)

  19. You're definitely not the only one to start and stop projects I'm in that category too. I can be so passionate about something and then can't even remember why I started it in the first place! Good for you for sticking to it!

  20. Elaine,
Thank you for sticking with blogging because then I never would have seen your awesome outfits. Outfits aside, I'm so pleased that blogging has done all that for you. It seems like the people in the "blogosphere" really give you a chance to see and learn about other people while learning about yourself in the process. Blogging has really inspired me to get more creative with my clothing rather than just throw on a t-shirt and some jeans like I did all the way through high school. I love your blog and I hope you stick with it for a long time.

  21. I'm glad to hear it. It seems so many bloggers go through the cycle of "it's fun, now it's a chore, now I just can't do it anymore" and poof, they're gone! I think as long as you focus on making it rewarding for you (instead of focusing on what you think "the market" desires), you'll be in good shape. I'm glad you're here!

  22. Hahaha, thank YOU Elaine! I know how this whole blog thing can change our lives for good. I like writing, I love expressing myself using words, so I'm pleased to have my blog as an archive of my existence. Your blog is delicious, because you are awesome. You are and amazing woman. As you mentioned here, we can learn more about ourselves when we express what's in inside of us. People commenting is just a consequence. I love taht you keep true to yourself, to your style. I love your blog! Haha, and please, follow mine!! xoxoxox,

    Hehehehe!

    You're one of a kind! :)
    Keep rocking our world!

    luv from us!

  30. I love your blog! From when I started reading I can see days that it has been hard for you, but I have always looked up to you for continuing. You are my inspiration at times. I love that you stand for modestly. And that when people try to tell you that "skinny jeans aren't modest" you put them in their place. Your blog is an expression of you, I can see that.
I agree. Blogger is lame. But for some reason it's what I have still. You are a wonderful lady!

  36. Elaine, I remember a conversation we had shortly after you started this blog about why you started it and what you wanted to accomplish with it and I think you've really made it into something special. It makes me happy to see that many of your goals have been exceeded! I'm glad you didn't stop too and I'm glad I have a way to keep up with what's going on with you, even though you live far, far away now! Thanks for being so cool.

  37. You should be pleased with yourself Elaine ~ your blog is wonderful and an inspiration to even us oldies. I love your modest style ~ it's a style that would look chic even 10 years from now because you have a lot of classic pieces. Even with a small wardrobe you remix it like you have two walk in closets.
So give yourself a pat on the back, high five, happy happy joy joy dance, or whatever you feel like to express a job well done!

When I first found it I was like cute clothes, check...and modest, double check! I've had to go from being a overspending clothesaholic to a getting out of debt more creative clothesaholic and your creativity is awesome and inspiring!

You continually show that being stylish is about more than having the trendiest or most expensive clothes - something that is really inspiring in a blogosphere full of brand names and designer goods. And your blog has always been one of my favorites because you are so classy and so down-to-earth at the same time. So thanks for keeping up with it and giving us all the chance to get to know you! :)
